ONLY SOLUTIONS REMASTERED (OmFG!!!)

Postby STORY_TELLER » Sat Jun 07, 2008 8:29 am

WOW! Have you guys heard the remastered version of Only Solutions (Frontiers)? This wasn't just remastered, it was remixed! Sounds brand new! Every other track on the album sounds like the original mix, but this one was really re-worked. Smitty's subtleties really shine on this version. The backing vocals are really front and center and Neal's guitar is sharp as hell! Only problem I have with it is the guitar solo that used to float through the tail end of the song was removed.

I wonder why Perry remixed this song and left the others alone?

The way I heard it, the song was recorded a few times (same sessions I imagine). I have at least three different versions of it.

So are you saying this version is not just remastered, but isn't the one found on the Time3 box set?

Mike is right. Several versions of the song were recorded. Because I'm old, I can't remember how many. There was a version on the Tron soundtrack and I think I had a vinyl picture disc or a 45 or something with a different version. Someone here probably has the different ones.

Definately a different version.
I like the box set one better, but the Frontiers one IS a good change of pace to have.
