Arnel/Neal Question

Postby piecesofeight » Sat Jun 07, 2008 9:07 am

We know that Neal comes here..I was wondering..if anyone can remember..about when did 'we' start talking about Arnel here..I was just wondering if it was Neal visiting here that got him to go to youtube and search further into Arnel..of if it ALL was just him searching around youtube one night..

Neal says he spent days looking over YouTube before he found Arnel which has surely got to be baloney. Anyone searching for Journey covers on YouTube around that time would find Arnel (and the Zoo) almost instantly. Arnel was mentioned on here before JSS was let go and I honestly believe it was through this board that Schon discovered Journey's new frontman before he went to YouTube checking out videos.

I don't think we had any impact on the youtube discovery of Arnel at all. In fact, my understanding is Jeremey Hunsicker was discovered on youtube by someone close to Jon Cain (his daughter I think?). Jon brought him to Neal's attention via the youtube clips and they flew out to a Frontiers show to see him live and things progressed from there.

When the prospects of Jeremey went south, Neal started looking around youtube and found Arnel. So one could conclude that, in a strange way, Jeremey could be the one responsible for the discovery of Arnel, lol....

Not sure what the big deal about Neal discovering Arnel on youtube/internet is, besides the fact that he is a vocal ringer for Perry. :? I mean, that is pretty much how he found out about JSS too, via the internet/MR. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tfWBHPnR6s

Well Neal's discovery of Arnel via Youtube has been pretty much globally reported so its been a big deal for the band for sure. Fingers crossed that the positive media attention continues.

They (Neal) have definitely thrown it out there in every interview.

LockNLoad, who some believe to be Neal Schon (tho Lock denies it), posted some of the first audio and video of Arnel and wanted fans' impressions.

I thought Neal and Jeff met at a NAMM show? Seems like I remember someone saying that. Could be that Neal saw him on the internet and then ran into him at a NAMM show and they started talking business. Not sure.

I think so too.

Sometimes I miss that guy.

His spiritual ramblings were so fun to read and make fun of (and sometimes agree with  )
