The whole band was on FIRE for the filming and Arnel is perfect singing the Journey catalog.
I'm beyond impressed with the DVD and the new songs.

Melissa wrote:Breath sounds aren't exactly extremely audible at a concert, over the music going on at the same time? Seriously, unless the singer has stridor (in which case they wouldn't even be talking let alone singing) then what kind of breath sounds are you expecting to hear, esp. with the music & crowd noise? You can tell by watching Deen how hard he's working to sing & play drums at the same time, you can see him concetrate on his breathing on the closer shots, esp. when he's really belting it out.

I'm not 100% convinced your head is screwed on straight.
Deen is DEFINITELY singing Live in that performance.
There may be some instances where it "looks off"
but I think the "sync" issues were never 100%
fixed by Shirley. There are some other performances,
NWA and WD come to mind, that kinda look like Arnel's
vocals have been replaced with studio work...
I doubt that's the case.
I think there are still some sync discrepancies on the
DVD that you can catch if you watch close enough.

Anyone else willing to step up to the plate?

At least from a "oh man this is going to be released for the general public" standpoint, worst case scenario they go in and overdub in the studio. You honestly think they'd be stupid enough to lip on their first live document since Tapegate? Deen's performance looks AND sounds very live to me... it's great, but it's definitely not studio polished or anything.

Maybe he's just a great vocalist? Ever consider that one?
You're always a hard one to please. Almost as hard to please as my most recent ex.

Those high notes sounded like they weren't even human vocals. I think they were played by synth or triggered on a pad.

The DVD is touched up. That is not 100% live. It's not a lip, but it was messed with.
