LOL, even JBJ kinda admits it's a stinker. On Larry King, when asked what the fans' reaction was to that one, Jon said.......ya that was probably a mistake, he said the fans' reaction was "don't mess with our songs".

The first Del Amitri album, hands down.

Eye II Eye wasn't THAT bad, and half the album does suck, but there's some REALLY good stuff on there too (Moment in a Million Years, Eye II Eye, Mysterious) - just didn't sound like them. The album gets a bad rap.

Cyclorama is awesome, I dunno what you guys are smoking unless you're DeYoung purists, which I understand. Excellent album, FAR better than Brave New World (which also isn't close to worst ever). Would much rather listen to Fields of the Brave than Hip-Hop-Cracy, and These are The Times is one of the best Styx songs ever recorded.

Cyclorama is Styx's best album since Pieces of Eight. Hands down. So many people get blinded by who's singing rather than the quality of songs, and the whole DeYoung argument is so stupid. Dennis is now doing what he wants (Broadway and touring with his wife) and the band are doing what they want (rock and touring).

The songs on Brave New World... most of them were not great. Hip Hop... especially and embarrassingly bad.
Cyclorama was kick in the ass to Styx's catalog. They've chosen to answer it by doing a cover album, another live album, and now no album of new material. It's a waste. Cyclorama ruled.

Can't believe my dearest Matthew threw down Journey's self-titled on this, and Gordo ragged on OK Computer. Ah well.

I've made my decision:

VAN HALEN III.

Only ONE decent song (Once) on the whole shebang... bad production, bad vocals, bad playing, just.... bad. Thank goodness I only paid $3 for it.

Gordon- I've listened to SOME Opeth (I have a buddy who's a huge fan) but I can't really get past the death growls. The music itself tends to be wonderful but I just can't stand cookie monster vox. I highly respect the band though... my buddy did tell me, though, that I'd really be into their newest album Watershed. I may just have to check it out!

Good call. That album wasn't very good. I liked "Without You" and "Neworld". That's it.

Steely Dan "Two Against Nature" was horrible, I hate that album.

I also agree with "Buiding the Bridge" REO Speedwagon. That album was nothing but fluffy garbage.

It's not a stinker on a par with the other records I listed but it was the biggest let down. You just knew the golden age of one of the most exciting bands of all-time had ended far too early in their career.

PT and the fusion era of Journey? Wow.

Also with you brywool, Cyclorama is a great album. Styx was more than Dennis, and I'm a Dennis fan too. 100 Years From Now is a great effort as well...

Death growls suck... that was pretty much all they did when I saw them with DT a few weeks ago... BUT, they have some excellent songs

Check out:

To Bid You Farewell
Benighted
Face of Melinda
Hope Leaves
Hours of Wealth
Harvest

Those are all real good... haven't heard much of the new album besides the song they played live (which sucked).

I have only heard the single and some clips from 100 years. It sounds decent, but it doesn't sound like it rocks that much. Don't know if we'll ever know seeing as how the album is already months old, yet not released in the states. Seems like Dennis has gone back to the Hunchback corner and his album is sitting there waiting to be released... Not interested anymore...

Prog Dude, check out the "Damnation" CD by Opeth. Not a single death growl on it. Mellow but highly original. Watershed still has some growls but only about 2.5 songs. These guys come up with some great progressive ideas. I got past the growls when I realized how great the music was. Now they don't bother me so much. Other bands growls still bother me though.

I saw him a few weeks ago and he claimed it was coming out in July I think? At any rate, there are definitely some good rockers on there. Definitely some ballads, but a lot of great Styx-sounding pomp and even some proggier Styx sounding stuff too. Plus the guy is what, 61? and he still sounds incredible

James Young Group-"Out On A Day Pass" (and even though I didn't care for it) I would rather listen to Styx "Cyclorama" than that awful noise again :x

Ditto on that, I can't even believe JY would even attempt any kind of a solo effort. "City Slicker" was so bad all I could do was laugh.

Michael Hutchence/Michael Hutchence (solo effort released after his death)

I adored MH  and have really, really tried to like this album - but I just can't. Only track I can listen to is Slide Away with Bono. Now I'm reminded - maybe I'll pull it out again and give it another listen, see if things have changed.

I'll get back to you on my picks, seeing as I try to listen to alot of stuff at least SOMEWHAT related to my personal taste, but I'm sure I can think of a couple stinkers.

Guys... I'm sure Generations really ISN'T the worst album ever..

OK Computer - by a fucking mile.

Do you like Opeth by the way? Some of their stuff is very cool.

OK Computer !! Are you insane ? That album is a modern masterpiece !!

Hard to pick out just 1...

I will say that I do like VH III ...Maybe not as a "Van Halen" cd, but there are some good songs there..."Once" being my fav.

In Journey land, it's by far "Raised On Radio"

That's what you followed Frontiers with ?!?!

Thanks for faggin' the band out Steve...This was a solo cd with the Journey name on it...."Positive Touch" ....umm.... NO! Great image too...

I also hate "The Long Run" by the Eagles....Massively overrated.

Def Leppard's "X". Boy Band songwriters to help out...good call assholes..."Now" is a good song, and it did not deserve to be on that cd.

I am not a fan of growling vocals, but I don't care for them in Opeth. Watershed is great (came out the same day as Revelation) but still have some of the growling vocals.

One band that I can't listen because of this is Children of Bodom, even if their lead guitarist, Alexi Laiho, is outstanding. His guitar solos sound a bit like Randy Rhoads, but more metal.

If you want to hate an album that has songs like the title track, King of Hollywood, Disco Strangler, In The City, I Can't Tell You Why, and Heartache Tonight (which was good before played to death) thats your prerogative. But overrated? Most pundits and even fans of the band think the album was below par... I strongly disagree but still, it'd be hard to make a case for the album being "overrated" in my experience with the people's at large views. For my money, King of Hollywood is the most underrated song in The Eagles canon. So much atmosphere and sleaze.

You've got to be kidding. This album (Cyclorama) was LOADED with great songs:

Kiss Your Ass Goodbye
Yes I Can
More Love for the Money
Together
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!
