You've got to be kidding. This album (Cyclorama) was LOADED with great songs:

Kiss Your Ass Goodbye
Yes I Can
More Love for the Money
Together

Don't forget

Fields of the Brave
These Are The Times
Waiting For Our Time
Killing The Thing That You Love
One With Everything

Great album. I know people say it didn't feel like a group effort, but I never got that from listening to the songs. That's a fair criticism of Generations, but not Cyclorama in my eyes

I also hate "The Long Run" by the Eagles....Massively overrated.

If you want to hate an album that has songs like the title track, King of Hollywood, Disco Strangler, In The City, I Can't Tell You Why, and Heartache Tonight (which was good before played to death) thats your prerogative. But overrated? Most pundits and even fans of the band think the album was below par... I strongly disagree but still, it'd be hard to make a case for the album being "overrated" in my experience with the people's at large views. For my money, King of Hollywood is the most underrated song in The Eagles canon. So much atmosphere and sleaze.

"Overrated" for my expectations. When I had Hotel California and played it over and over....I just thought it was a masterpiece. Still do. So when I picked up "The Long Run" I was ready for more musical gold, and was let down greatly. Granted, "In The City" is great, but not even "Heartache Tonight" grabbed me. It's just my opinion...I respect the fact many thought this was a great record. Just not to me. King of Hollywood is pretty decent too. 8)

I'll get back to you on my picks, seeing as I try to listen to alot of stuff at least SOMEWHAT related to my personal taste, but I'm sure I can think of a couple stinkers.

Guys... I'm sure Generations really ISN'T the worst album ever..

OK Computer - by a fucking mile.

Do you like Opeth by the way? Some of their stuff is very cool.

OK Computer !! Are you insane ? That album is a modern masterpiece !!

I hate Radiohead with a passion - but mainly said it to get prog to reply about Opeth...........

I've made my decision:

VAN HALEN III.

Only ONE decent song (Once) on the whole shebang... bad production, bad vocals, bad playing, just.... bad. Thank goodness I only paid $3 for it.

Gordon- I've listened to SOME Opeth (I have a buddy who's a huge fan) but I can't really get past the death growls. The music itself tends to be wonderful but I just can't stand cookie monster vox. I highly respect the band though... my buddy did tell me, though, that I'd really be into their newest album Watershed. I may just have to check it out!

Yes the music is great - the guy actually sings on the new album - these guys could be immense if they just mellowed a bit and cut out the growling/grunting shit......

I actually liked VHIII, but I know most didn't. There are some good boots from that tour.

I'd have to go with anything Styx or Pink Floyd ever made as the worst, in my opinion. I just don't "get" either of those bands. I think they're awful.

With you all the way on Styx - rock at its most lightweight - but you can't lump a band of Pink Floyd's stature in with them. I get why you might not like Roger Waters' vocals and even the songs...but do you really not appreciate Dave Gilmour who is one of the all-time great guitarists? Even just a bit?

Oh, there's no doubt that Gilmour is great - I just can't listen to Floyd at all. I suppose I can't get past the songs.

It was the most group effort since Paradise Theatre. Cyclo was just a great album for them. It's too bad Burtnik left. That guy's a really prolific writer. He and Gowan stole the show on Cyclo.

Up yours!

It's not my favorite Kansas album, either but it's far better than "Drastic Measures", for instance. There are only a couple of bad songs on the album and, even though it really doesn't sound like classic Kansas, it's still a decent album. It was the last time Walsh's voice sounded all that good on a studio album.

There were a few good tracks on that album that were as good as the rest of their stuff, like "Year to the Day" and "Fire in the Hole".

Well, I have heard a TON of material that belonged to OTHER people, and those piece of crap albums are astronomically worse than anything I actually OWN.

So, since this thread appears to be gravitating toward the latter - i.e. albums you own - then I would have to add the following:

Boston - Corporate America (except "I Had a Good Time")
Def Leppard - Songs From the Sparkle Lounge (Except "Love")
U2 - Zooropa (Except "Stay (Far Away, So Close)")
John Mellencamp - Trouble No More
Tori Amos - Boys for Pele (Except b-side version of "Hey Jupiter")
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

My vote for U2 Zooropa as well. Not a big U2 fan anyway but this one ... youch, IMO.

When it came out, the local radio station did a parody of "numb" and rabid U2 fans.

"for all you fans who bought this 'cause it's U2
We all know that the jokes' on you
Cmon now buy it
It's got U2 on it
Cmon now buy it"

Agreed on this one too. I liked the two tracks that Delp was on, the rest of it was pure shit. A stinking country song on a Boston album. I surely thought the end was near. :x

Are you fucking KIDDING me???? VT I can kinda understand 'cause it's split among the fans on who likes it and who hates it (mainly loud production, no keyboards, and no guitar solos)...but S&A??????? REALLY? WOW. I'm not knocking ya for your opinion...but that's something I didn't expect.

BTW...the albums that I don't like...BOTH by Pink Floyd...are Final Cut and THE WALL. The Wall was just fucking overrated. The film was even worse. It gave hippies just one more reason to take another hit of acid.

Delp sang on more than two songs on CA. I actually liked the album. Certainly not as much as the first three albums, but it was nice hearing Delp on a Boston record again.

Songs From the Sparkle Lounge is another really good album. Maybe it's the title of the CD, but the songs on it are good.

Definitely undeserving of the flak and this kind of flak is probably exactly the reason bands like Journey have made the decisions they did. I Had a Good Time, Corporate America, Someone, Cryin', Didn't Mean to Fall In Love, You Gave up on Love, and even the EVIL COUNTRY With You were all great tunes that I still enjoy. It's definitely sad that Delp wasn't there more in retrospect. Did the album bring us back to the joys of 1976's self-titled? Fuck no. But that would be asking a lot since it's one of the only albums I can think of that consistently has all 8 tracks played regularly on classic rock radio to this day. Shit, most classic rock bands are lucky if they have 8 different tracks from their career played over the course of a year on the Clear Channel stations.

Worst Journey album - Raised On Radio (Steve Perry's second solo album with a much better guitar player)

Worst albums I've listened to:

Van Halen III -(Total Crap)
Bon Jovi's -This Left Foot (I'm convinced they were high when they came up with that one)
Anything by the Grateful Dead (Friends have forced me to listen to them repeatedly over the years...I'd rather stab myself in the eye with a blunt utensil. Dreadful, useless crap.)
It's All Good...

Damn, I LOVE IN THE SPIRIT...I think it's terribly underrated.

And here's a list of PINK FLOYD albums BETTER than FINAL CUT
1- WISH YOU WERE HERE
2- DARK SIDE OF THE MOON
3- THE WALL
4- ANIMALS
5- MEDDLE
6- THE DIVISION BELL
7- A MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REASON

Just mho!!! :)

OOOO.. and while I'm on a roll...WALK ON by BOSTON might occupy the 2nd crappiest slot right behind VH III. What a horrible album!
