It IS a kick-ass album. of course, that's just my OPINION. If people don't like it, I'm fine with that, but I don't see how anyone who likes melodic rock wouldn't. Just me I guess.

You come in here and say he's calling you a "Kool-aid" drinker, and put words in his mouth. He even tried to apologize if he offended you, yet you still carried on.

I'm not saying you shouldn't be posting in here, as we're ALL welcome here. This place wouldn't exist without opposing ideas and debating. I apologize for the name calling too. it wasn't called for, but Rick's a friend. I just think you should just try to be a little more considerate when saying what you have to say. He didn't call you out by name, or say anything derogatory to you...

And I've been here longer than both you and Rick and I think he was out of line.

I think the naysayers are crossed up out of loyalty, and I respect that. But I just can't see anyone not liking this record.

That is pretty cut-and-dried to me. People don't like the album because they are loyal to SP, SA, or JSS. Not because they think AP is a bad singer, or the songs just plain suck or anything weird like that.

Maybe you guys just don't want to see anyone not liking this record because it'll kill your Journey buzz.

But that's just my opinion. Hopefully since I've been here since 2005, I'll be allowed to speak it.

I generalized and shouldn't have. I should have said 'some naysayers'. And I know that to be the case. I also said I respect that. It ain't killing my buzz dammit all!

I've got no problem with you Rick... I just hate when people use post count or time registered on a forum as a reason to give someone respect.

I don't understand at all why everybody now seems to say that Generations sucks. People seems to forget that Generations got a lot of positive reviews (on allmusic guide, it is their best rated album since Frontiers), from everywhere.

It was a flawed record and a lot of songs didn't sound as good as they should (blame the production), but it is the most experimental album Journey has done since Frontiers. As a whole it may not be as cohesive as Revelation, but Generations has an harder edge.

I think that a lot of fans don't like Journey to really rocks and prefer more pop-rock oriented songs.

I am not saying that Revelation is bad album. It's just a very safe record from Journey, nothing new. Fortunatly the songwritting is good. When I hear complains about Wildest Dreams because that song is too heavy: I just can't beleive it! If you want Enya go buy Enya. Journey is a rock band!!!

I agree with all of that

I can't say THAT. I liked Journey, Next, and Look Into The Future for that progressive/instrumental,fusion feel that they had back then. But to each their own.
I've heard this album I don't know how many times and, with the exception of WDILYL and NWA, Nothing grabs me. FITH it just unlistenable to me. And most of the album is, like I said, Sterile. I'm not going to even get into the re-records...as I just find them AWFUL. OTY is ok...but the rest is shit. Again...just IMO.

Look AMORON,

All I'm trying to get across, is that Rick didn't say anything disrespectful to YOU, or any other individual. He simply stated that if people didn't like this album, it was probably due to their loyalty to one of the other singers. If you don't like the album, don't listen to it. The previous poster came in here and accused Rick of calling him a "Kool-aid drinker". Did I miss that in the post? That's bullshit, and un-called for!

Also, all I asked for was for him to be a little more considerate when disrespecting someone who never provoked him to begin with!

And for the record, I'm just saying that for someone who has contributed as much as Rick has to this board, having someone just pop in here and starting shit with him even though he did nothing to him personally is a bunch of crap!

Amoron? Cute.

I'm not going to continue to bag on Rick for what he admitted was a generalization. That being said, when you're done sucking his dick we can talk. Deal?

Oh, and does this post count as a contribution to the board? Guess you're a quantity over quality man. Must be hard to swallow sometimes.

Get your facts straight..I did not continue anything after Rick clarified what he said. I let it drop, and he unnecesarily
apologized..which he did not need to do. It was over. Then you and your band of intellectual thieves decided that you needed to start calling people names for having a different opinion. Then it became about post count=credibility. Maybe you are the one that really needs to get over yourself. If Rick were here I'd buy him a beer for the trouble, and be the one to apologize. But maybe he shouldn't accept it because I haven't been around here long enough for you. Somehow I'll get through the day.
