Wow - finally received my Journey 2 CD + DVD pack

Postby Vladan » Thu Jun 12, 2008 7:55 am

So this one took forever! I pre-orderd the US release months in advance from Ebay, and received it today! it took way too long, I remember ordering Arrival and getting it pretty much the day or a day after the release date. Anyways, the quality is amazing! - I decided to listen to the re-recorded tacks and then the Originals, and I must say - the original are still better!. Though it is nice to hear newly recorded originals for a change, but it's not for the better ;-) but I still have the "frontiers records" european release coming in the mail, hopefully today.

On to the new tracks then!, pretty good! solid music there all round, and a good Journey album, just as good as Arrival maybe better? mmm that's a tough, what do you think.

Beats Arrival. The music on Revelation is great- as a matter of fact IF you had the young Steve Perry singing some of these songs instead of Arnel, it might even be better than Evolution and Departure .

Arrival got a bad name because its had 4 or 5 to many songs, so greats song like "To be alive again" etc get lost in the numbers.

Been a while since I've listened to Arrival so I'm not going to vote. I'm tempted to say Revelation, but I want to wait a while until I do that, to see if it stands the test of time with me. At the moment its new and fresh and I LOVE it.

Yeah that's what they say isn't it. Lost in the numbers, but I really like it when an album has 15+ songs on there, and I know that's a lot for a CD, but after 6 months to a year, eventually you listen to all the songs

Well, theres some good music on Revelation and parts of it that you hear and think "Wow Arnel sounds good there, but Perry would leave you in absolute pieces if he were to sing that". I was thinking that just a few minutes ago listening to "Like a Sunshower", a track that would go well on Evolution.

I like the way you think. SP would have done fantastic on Revelation. The bold statement part is where you said it might even be better than Evolution and Departure. I'm not even touching that one, but once again, I like the way you think.

I'll tell you what I'll do. So as not to be too bold I'll get all three CD's out along with a couple six packs of beer and spend the rest of the evening thinking it over :D

Arrival is boring. Revelation isn't that much better, but it's not really boring.
