How many of you think that someone who's new to the Forum (say under a year, or even 6 months), should be able to come in here and be disrespectful to others in here who have been here for quite a while? Should thread count even count? Does your post count matter at all? Do the countless hours you spend on this forum count when it comes to newcomers? I guess this is all subjective, but I'm just curious to see what the general opinion is...

On your point Nolippin', I agree that we really DON'T know how long people have been lurking here. I was present probably 4-5 years ago, but never got interested enough to sign up until a couple of years ago. Maybe I should have added the option that "Lurking" time should be included in the count? I know there's plenty of them here!![]()

What I feel is out of line is when people act like their opinion is worth more because they post more. It may only be because they have more time on their hands. I think quality of post should matter, too. Many posts are nothing but "me, too"s or emoticons. That's why I discount the number of posts entirely.

You're making vary valid points Nolippin. Quality posts should mean more.
I know personally, I tend to act like a big brother (and get in other's business) when I feel that someone I like is wronged. I know I need to just let people do what they will, but I guess it reminds me of high school a little....I was always the one to stand up for others when I thought they were threatened. I got in several fights for people who couldn't fight back, and I guess I just held onto that after all these years. I need to just let people settle their own differences. I'm not just saying this because of last night, but I've noticed that I do it quite a bit in here...I'm going to make a concerted effort to stop!
BTW, If anyone needs me to kick some ass (outside of here of course), just let me know!

I don't know what happened last night. I've never been a fan of the "piling on" stuff. People should be allowed to express their agreement or disagreement with anyone...regardless of how "popular" they are...without feeling like they're going to be jumped on. Of course, it should all be done with respect. That just goes without saying.

Agreed. I'll tell you what happened last night though.....Lots of work-related stress, and BEER!!! I'm drinking tonight too, but I'm in pre-birthday mode. Tomorrows my birthday. I promise to behave tonight as long as everyone agrees with me!Just JOKING!
Thanks!

I agree wholeheartedly. There was a major clique that existed here for far too long. As much as I enjoyed these forums I always felt I'd get shouted down if I didn't toe the party line. Seemingly some of them are now gone. As a long time lurker, that was an impetus for me to start posting at least a little bit. Personally, I'd never run up much of a post count regardless, but it's cool to share some opinions every once in awhile. Thanks all!

Thanks for your input man, and I enjoy your posts. I agree with what you said about the Cliques. I think a lot of people felt the same way. Again, I apologize for last night. I re-read some of my posts, and I came across as a serious ass!
Well, back to my party-of-one!

Dude, No need to apologize. Some of the crap around here gets old and sometimes you just gotta say what you think. I didn't think it was out of line at all. But back to the Party

I trust everyone is happy at this point in time?
