Every Thursday evening during the summer, Im involved in a cycle race, a time-trial to be precise. For the past two years, Edge of the Blade and Escape have always been in the IPOD real loud as an integral part of the warm up routine. Half way through the race as my legs are screaming "Stop, dumfuck you spend to much time going to rock concerts and drinking beer to possibly be doing this crap" , I will sing Edge of the Blade repeatedly as a method of taking my mind off the pain in my legs.
This week I thought Id plug in "What it Takes To Win" in the warm up routine, and get that one into my head halfway around the course, thinking hey thats supposed to be a sports anthem. Bad choice! Back to Edge of the Blade- If it were played in a Rocky movie, Rocky would be getting stuffed . Song might be okay, but its not a motivating sports theme.
I do not suggest the use of "What it takes to Win " for any aspiring olympians OR for half drunk outfielders at a local softball tourament
