STFU.

Jesus !!!!

The new album is out.

It is at number 5 and has surpassed expectations.

Arnel has gotten WAY better since Chile.

I had people ask me about it at work that were not even Journey fans if they should get it and I said yes.. Duh... I didnt think to ask how they heard about it.... Obviously the PR work has been done with much skill and great timing.

They told me they loved it after they got it and asked me "Are they going to tour?"

Steve Perry is rolling around in his gold plated litter box for two right now singing the chorus of DSB over and over 10 steps downtuned with an insane, crazed look on his face rocking back and forth and has been like that for days now...

Fucking bickering is annoying. I join a hypothetical thread called " Great deal on shoes at Wal-Mart" and five or ten posts in to it SOMEHOW it turns in to a Perry vs Arnel vocal cock sword fight....

Damn people.

You like it or you dont.

Talking about work, i made a copy of the Chile concert for a coworker a couple of months ago. This copy turned in to two dozen overnight. Even My boss who is a Beatle nut and Pink Floyd lover got a copy. She is picking up a bunch Revelation Discs for people since she lives in Northridge and most of us are in the Walmart less city of L.A. It's all good, Even my J.S.S bootleg DVD from Omaha has got good play at work. The songs are great songs when they are played live,it really doesn't matter who is singing them.

I just get so tired of reading a thread that by title seems benign only to found I have jumped in to yet another vocal cock size match. Journey fucking sounds great, Perry is going to do what ever he wants and that is that.. Speculation and fighting is a waste of time. Enjoy what is left while it lasts and for a band that has been out of the spotlight for as long as they have it is almost unheard of.

The amazing thing that no one could have predicted is that these songs would become timeless as they have. This places Journey in what I like to call the "elite few". Those being...

The Beatles
The Stones (I hate the stones but their place is in stone in music history)
Jimi Hendrix
Led Zep

Etc... etc..

This post from St. J - and your post just now - made me LMAO.

They're getting popcorn ready, but not just any popcorn. Jiffy Pop? Nope. Orville Reddenbacher? Nope. We're talking 55 gallon drums on hand trucks. Butter? You fucking bet!!! It's being poured on in quarts. The anticipation of Perry taking on water is only surpassed by the thought of digging their claws into those drums and coming away with greasy paws full of buttered popcorn. The fat intake so great that they look like they they could be exchanging vows with the fucking Michelin Man at any moment. Ahhh...good times are back. Sit back, grab a beer, and enjoy the show.

People just need to lighten up.

Perry doesn't need or deserve to be included in any tirades....and Journey are doing great on their own right.

So folks...just chill out.

Very good point, Liquid_Drummer. I really don't quite figure out yet why in the world people keep on comparing AP vs. SP, and AP's vocals vs. SP's vocals. NOBODY IS FORCING ANYBODY TO CHOOSE ONE OVER THE OTHER! NOTHING IS PREVENTING ANYBODY TO ENJOY AP OR SP OR BOTH OR NO ONE! WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? And that holds true for their songs! Goodness gracious! Is it really that hard for anyone to figure out and accept that each one of them has his own weaknesses and strengths (as a singer and as a person)?--and that is true for their vocals, too. (And that's true for everybody!). IT IS A PERSONAL CHOICE! YOU CANNOT IMPOSE WHAT YOU WANT TO PEOPLE, PERIOD!

May I say that "AP and SP are both very gifted and excellent singers...but both of them are not perfect!" The sooner people realize that REALITY--the better it is for their hearts. Life is short, guys! We might as well enjoy it! As LD said above, it "is a waste of time", and may I add--childish---to "speculate and fight" over SOMETHING THAT YOU CANNOT CHANGE AND YOU CANNOT CONTROL. We have a choice--either to continue endless bickering and whining and fighting--OR--we can behave and simply enjoy listening to the music! DEAL?

Please don't encourage them. They are both naughty enough.
I would offer to punish them, but they would like it.

I adore Journey because when I first heard them I heard a magical mixture of good songs, a fabulous voice and a breathtaking guitarist.
I like those songs sung by that voice best. But that voice isn't producing new songs for me with or without that breathtaking guitarist.

The breathtaking guitarist IS producing new songs with a different good voice on them.
It is natural to compare old & new - it's human nature, so I don't think that will stop.
But the comparisons don't have to turn into a fight.
But it's human nature to fight as well.
What can you do? [shrug]

And yes, what IS a liquid drummer?
