If they booked Tom Petty, who was awesome, Journey's got a shot.

If it's true that Arnel and Journey will be featured in Time Magazine in the near future, then I'm pretty sure the NFL big wigs will have a chance to read that piece--and may create enough exposure and interest to make Journey a strong contender for the Superbowl half-time performance. That, plus this petition, may just do it.

Counterpoint time!
It was actually Tom Petty that performed. Not the guy who replaced the guy, who replaced the guy, who replaced Tom Petty!

And it will actually be Journey performing. Tom Petty was the name, as is Journey. Along with all the buzz about Arnel, I think they'd definitely have a shot.

Tom Petty was the name, the voice, and a major songwriter.
Using your logic, Petty could have hired someone to fill in for him and give them consent to use his name.

I have logic? Cool.

Actually, if I were using any logic , it would have said, without Tom Petty, it's just ___________ and the Heartbreakers. Without Steve Perry, it's still Journey.

I say let Journey take the BCS championship game and let JSS take the Super Bowl. :-)

Ya know...the Super Bowl...the Game where the Cowboys will get their SIXTH ring.
Seriously though...I think they're going to shape up to be THE team in the NFC to beat this year. :-)

Sorry Liam, but I've gotta disagree big time here! The Super Bowl fans would be saying "Who the fuck is this guy...can't they even get someone that anyone's heard of?". Not trying to sound like an ass, because I'm personally a huge fan...just not the rest of the country. JMHO.

That was basically a generalization on my part. I WOULD'VE said Rush, but this ain't the CFL. I don't think Journey would make it as a halftime show at the SB. BCS...MAYBE. ZZ Top did a good job last year...maybe Journey could do it this year. But, ya KNOW the SB is going to call for "Heavy hitters of the day". Journey just ain't one of them. Even with name recognition.
