Glad you had a good time there! Sucks that there were so many sound problems, not a good soundmix is easy enough to get over, but feedback is very distracting.

So, Greg Giuffria is not in Angel and not in House Of Lords. I wonder what he's doing these days... I haven't heard about him for a long time.

Last I heard, Gregg is doing celebrity things. I heard he's built a couple casinos.

I don't believe he'll be recording music anytime soon. He announced a new studio album twice. The first time, his music studio burned down the day after. The second time, one of his casinos was destroyed in Hurricane Katrina. It's a bad omen every time he mentions music.

However, the original Giuffria lineup minus Giuffria has reformed. (Eisley and the gang.) Most likely will be announced as the singer's next solo album.

Tell you what though, the Giuffria clone playing with Angel was an amazing keyboard player. Probably the best one I've seen live. (This is subject to change if After Forever does another US tour. :wink:

)

Oh, I must have missed the casino building thing... or it just didn't register.

At least Giuffria minus Giuffria have a keyboard player, and a good one at that apparently! House Of Lords did their last tour with the keyboards coming from a tape. :shock:

That drives me crazy, being a keyboard player myself. Certainly they could've found one keyboard player to fill things in. They're out there, you just gotta find them.

I was disgusted by this same move of a keyboard tape when I watched Edenbridge's 'Livetime At Eden DVD,' because prior to their live album I thought they had excellent keyboard work, and now I know it's all programmed. A shame.

Have you found your appointments back?

We're back from our trip to the festival in Germany. We had great weather and saw mostly great bands. Saxon were very awesome actually; a very entertaining live band, songwise and because of the chatty frontman. I love it how Biff Byford always takes a long moment to take in the view of the audience, he looks so pleased and happy then.

What a time, an appointment at 8! Perhaps I am living in a city of night owls, but you can hardly get anything done here before 10. And of course I like to sleep late... :oops:

At the moment the forecast says 23 degrees and has for the evening a sun with a grey cloud before it, and one drop hangs from the cloud. A different forecast gives just a 40% chance of rain. Don't know what to make of that.

Pretty much the same - we're building a house at the moment (well, not personally, but you know what I mean) so that is taking up a lot of our time. Work is very busy, I really feel like the proverbial rat on the treadmill.....always chasing that elusive bit of cheese.

Life is good though! the alternative is not very appealing, after all. :lol:

Wow, building a house! Must be great to be able to design everything yourself and to see the building come along.

We are still thinking about buying a house. We long to have a regular house with a garden with birds and flowers, but such a place is difficult to find in Amsterdam. At an affordable price anyway, so it looks like we will have to move out of town. Which means long bikerides to work ahead! Well, as long as it's not more than half an hour it's okay... I think! :lol:

it's a bit more like you pick a design offered by the builder and change it a bit S-Dip - we made quite a few changes to ours, especially our ensuite, which we made twice as big, increased the size of the shower and made the vanity with two basins. We also changed the kitchen slightly, and added eaves to two sides of the house, where there weren't any.

We also had a plumber modify the schematic for the plumbing too so that we can add a 3000 - 4000 litre water tank later for drinking, flushing 2 toilets and filling the washing machine.

It's all fun!! The cost of land (about 25 mins from the city by car or train) would freak you out though - I'll PM you with it if you're interested!

Yeah, sounds very nice indeed! A bit like a palace, that house; doubling the ensuite! And your house has sides... most of the houses here don't. They only have a front and back.

Despite that it's picking a design and changing it a bit, it's still quite some input you have.

Land is expensive? I gathered it would be quite inexpensive actually. I mean, Australia has quite a lot of it!

Actually in the process of doing the same thing.

We put a deposit on some land in Feb this year (had to go into a ballot - 1500 entries and only 156 blocks so we were lucky) The land isn't actually available to build upon until Oct 08-Jan09 (probably Jan 09 knowing the Land Development Agency here in Canberra).
I actually have to go and sign a form today and give the designer/builder company $1500 to secure the price of the quote they gave of the house we want before they put the price up $30k :shock:

Land is bullshit in price here in canberra...looking at $200,000 for a 450 square metre block.

Where we are moving, having water tanks are compulsory. The size of the tank depends on the size of your block.

We're leaving room for expansion - of the mini-human variety! Our land was a litte bit more expensive than Tali's....although it is a little bigger.

Yeah gathered mate - it's not law here in WA, but it should be! Our builder basically A) Didn't want to do it and B) Didn't know how to. As I said, we had to get another plumber who is working with a leading water tank salesman to do a detailed schematic for them....basically we are doing the builder a big favour as it will be law soon!
