I dunno - Haven't had time to listen to all the concert DVDs out there in order to come to that conclusion!

Thoughts?

I'd say Arnel has done a tremendous job overcoming his language barrier. I'm sure if I listened to Arnel singing Journey classics over and over it might bother me, but I see Arnel as basically a gift that was given to Journey fans who want to go see Journey live in concert again. Arnel recreates the Steve Perry sound much better than Augeri or Soto did. If I want to hear the Journey classic hits, I will just put one of my Perry/Journey CD's in the player.

I finally got around to watching the DVD the other days, and thought it was a bit...well rough. I know it was taken from one of their very first shows together with Arnel, but overall, I really didn't like it. Good thing it was within a package, or else it would have probably not done too well otherwise. I think Arnel nails the ballads, but with everything else to me it seems like he's sorta "overdoing it" (I think someone mentioned it during "Any Way"). I hope in time he learns to smooth everything out, but that's something that definitely bugs me, especially live. The new album/re-records were great, and I think the upcoming tour will show whether or not Arnel is a better stage performer or studio performer.

Just watched it and thought it was great. I liked the overall look which was heavy on the darker colours - blues, blacks and greys and thought Arnel was extremely impressive throughout and WTF Cain actually cracked a smile! I'm now going to search for the Greg Rolie shout out!

I actually like the DVD a lot -- the performances were waaaaaay better than the "Arrival 2001" DVD (and I enjoyed that DVD). "Separate Ways" was a homerun on the "Revelation" DVD.

It's a good DVD. I found it too short though, where is the encore? It is not half as good as the 2001 DVD. But since it came as a bonus disk, I'd say it's the best bonus DVD I have seen.:)
