the only difference is, that Boston won despite the complacency and Lakers lost due to choking and pressure.

Don't jinx the Celtics! As a Boston fan, let's not forget that the Yankees were up 3-0 on the Red Sox in the playoffs in 2004 and LOST the series! The Mistake By The Lake Indians were up 3-1 against the Red Sox last season and LOST the series! While I don't believe the Lakers have ANY shot of beating the Celtics two games in Boston, I've seen stranger things happen in sports! The Celtics are simply the better team and should win the series. I really never understood how EVERYONE (i.e. all the so-called "experts") was picking the Lakers. The Celtics played the Lakers twice during the regular season twice and beat them handily, both times! Not to mention, the Celtics are a FAR better defensive team, and defense almost always wins, in the playoffs!

how's your stroke John?

reason why experts pick LAKERS:

1. MVP Black Mamba KOBE Bryant.
2. the way the LAKERS manhandled their WEST counterparts during the PLAY-OFFS, including the effective but boring SPURS.
3. the way BOSTON played their opponents during the PLAY-OFFS. 2 Game 7s and lost 1 game at home versus Detroit.
4. Writers are obvious Laker Fans. 4-2 Lakers? what the hell? Celtics are not the underdogs.
5. they underestimate the oldies. Lakers are a young team and won over veteran teams.

It's a good read...not that I think it's going to happen...

Postby ttango1 » Sun Jun 15, 2008 2:44 am

but it's a good read if you are Lakerfan.

As a hater...I don't think it's possible.

lets do this celtics!!!

would rather win at home but a win on lakers floor gains us more respect and would love to see PP be MVP.

but, I dont see the lakers letting it end on their floor. close game till the end tonight with the lakers taking it.

I've said all along that I really want to see the Celtics win this (assuming they will) in Boston. The city of Boston hasn't had a championship won in Boston in over 20 years. Winning on "The Staples Center" court simply won't be nearly as much fun. It looks like the Lakers are falling into their bad habits from Game 4 the other night. Should be an interesting second half.

another monumental collapse from the Lakers. Boston gave this one to the Lakers. as I saw it, they are fit on coming from behind and capable of piling up some points if they wanted to. can't hear much cheering and bragging coming from Sunny C. it's now evident that is going to be 4-2 Boston. I wish L.A. good luck next season with Bynum around. but I doubt it since teams would be beefing up their lineups as well.

Lakers in 7!!!!!!!!! Why? They have the greatest player in the world in Kobe. The Celtics should be grateful Kobe as been off most of the series...Its only a matter of time before Kobe explodes all over the Celtics for 50 or more points! lol

I am glad that the Celtics and Lakers are both in the Finals, but both teams have played horrible defense and have shot soo poorly...Sometimes I just cant stand to watch it as these players make millions and the defense consists of waving hello to the guy dribbling the ball running by you.

CONGRATS 78 & RBJ!!!!
You're right...it's a miracle!!! I don't know where Kobe has been
but he's going to have to bust out in Boston if they're going to have
a chance!!!

I'm happy that the Laker's won....IF Boston is going to win this
series, I'd much rather they do it IN Boston!!! The fans and
the players deserve that!!!

It's not over.....

kobe isnt bad cause he is off, you think he would be off so much during a series ? I think not. he is off cause of the celtics defense.

give credit where its due. the celtics have played great defense against him and make him take tough shots. we have been in his face.

I hope the celtics come out tonight focused and not to excited.

if they come out focused like they usually do at home, I see a blowout.
