BTW: mastering wise, the Asia album sounds the best.

I'm considering adding Dokken to a list of banned words.

Is there a filter? Change it so that when anyone types "Dokken", it comes up "pantywaist" or something.

RIP,,, saturday night i finally got to listen to the Dokken Rockline/BobCoburn interview..

it was great! don really said lots.. it took 3 years to make the new album because he got intoxicated

too much , but is now clean .. AND how he has blown his voice out and got the surgery ...

BUT the best was the live performance.. JON LEVIN is just a monster player.. he pulled off

licks live that just might seem impossible .. then he gave credit to George for him knowing that

style/ inspiration..

im in the process of finding music that Levin has created.. WOW... AND would a guy such as yourself

know anyone that might have those live cuts from the Rockline interview???????????

Ok good, atleast we cleared that up! :)

Yeah man, like I bought the new CD here in my local store, they imported it and billed it nicely in the shops at the front counter and everything here. But I was expecting somthing more, and sadly not one song grabbed me, not like the classics do! it just doesn't compare or come close to their previous classic material. I had high hopes, maybe it's an album that grows on you? tell me it is, because Trial By Fire grew on me over time.

I don't love it as much as I thought I should, that's for sure. I get disappointed when there is so much hype and great buzz, because then I'm just expecting something that will have heavy replay value for me. But yes, it is growing on me. I still can't hold it up to some of the older discs and say that I like the songs as well, though.

Of those 4, both the Dokken and ASIA discs I love, and I like, but do not love the Whitesnake and Journey discs.

You can have the EM forum... I already have a Dokken board elsewhere, as well as a George Lynch board... haha! I'm just here as an apostle of rock to spread the word...

I haven't heard the Rockline interview yet, but the one we listened to last night was from WMMT FM 88.7 -- I think he said they do something special each year on Don's birthday, and they played most if not all of LSA mixed in with other tracks. They were also the first to debut the single "Standing On The Outside" on radio. Anyway, the Dokken gang chats each Sunday night, and Greg, the DJ from that station, as well as Neeley from The Classic Metal Show are usually there as well. Greg gives us shoutouts and plays lots of requests, so it's a great deal of fun. If you aren't doing anything on Sunday evenings, check out Greg's show at:

www.appalshop.org

and the click on Web Broadcast. If I'm too tied up to chat, I at least try to stream the program and listen to it.

Yes, Levin shreds, and he's a heck of a lot easier to get along with than Lynch... haha! He used to be in Warlock, but I was never a fan of that band and honestly couldn't name a single song they did. But you can probably find some of his stuff around if you dig.

Thank you! I think I said it early on, but after all the hype about how Revelation was being mixed, I was really disappointed. It's not crisp to me at all... I think you are right on, though. Vocals sound great, but the instruments sound muddy. Neal's guitar solos, for instance -- when he starts blistering on the lower end of the fretboard, it's an indistinguishable mess -- can't even make out the individual notes, because it's just the notes are buried and just kinda run together. Bass isn't there, and the drums have no pop to them. This one has better production than Arrival for sure, but still pales next to something like Trial By Fire.

I agree, Neals guitar is just a blur, sounding like one note instead of probably 50, and so far down in the mix,(horrible production) personally i thought Arrival was much better as far as guitar sound(i know it had its limitations especially if you turned the volume up) Neal might as well be playing lefty, he's hardly on this cd(revelation)

You know there are others here who have to agree with us, because what we are describing is a real problem here. Also, the overall lead sound on the upper end of the fretboard sounds just way too processed as well -- too "hot" or something. He also took a perfectly good lead near the end of "F.I.T.H." and added all these swooping whammy maneuvers that made it sound like an ambulance siren or something, and it just killed it for me. The ending instrumentals on the end of that song are a complete, jumbled mess and just ruined the song. I haven't heard anyone that likes that version better.

Do I get points for that?
I certainly hope I'm not the only one around here that wears panties, though
If I am, I'm never letting any of you people in my car. I *will* do a panty check.
I have fabric seats so I better see skivvies or y'all getting dropped at the bus station.

Well I WAS because ain't no other kind of... humidity... happening for me over Don Dokken.
In fact, just the thought has given me a near permanent Sahara situation over here.

You just can't WAIT to spend the evening with me AND Rhi at the same time... I just know it. :D
Don't worry, I behave when dinner is on the table. Momma taught me table manners.
