IT'S YOUR EAR MECHANISM, STUP_D!

Postby edcha » Tue Jun 17, 2008 9:33 am

I am quite amused at how some people in this site could be in love with a specific song, while others hate it. It’s funny that everyone seems to act like he/she is the expert—and the rest is all brain-dead! Is it because people's ears are wired differently? Or at the very least---people’s ears are in different conditions—some are young, fresh and healthy---some are old, overused, abused or just plain sick.

The same can be said of people's tastes for foods. People’s taste buds are different? There may be some foods that some people crave and prefer---but may be considered junk by others. The same may be true for music--be it for a specific song or an entire type of music.

Yes, one can always say that it all boils down to personal preference—but that may just be a big excuse. Your personal preference does not always make sense to other people. And they may be right! Yes, even if you are in a state denial! Could it be that there's nothing wrong with the song you hate! Maybe---it’s about the state of your hearing, stup_d!

I just noticed that you are from Fayetteville, and that you attended the Journey gig at the Wal-Mart convention. Glad to have a new fan on board, and a local one at that -- welcome!

i dont believe everyone here believes they are the expert(only 3 or 4 people here do)
but if i really like a song i will to to give an argument for it to win you over.
i remember when kerrang said the michael boltons everybodys crazy was the album of the year, i ve tried 4 different times to give it a new fair listen and still dont get it.
welcome and bring on the opinions

Thanks, S16. As they say, there's no harm in trying.
