Journey Rhythm Guitarist

Postby Duncan » Wed Jun 18, 2008 5:47 pm

Not since George Tickner has Journey had a rhythm guitar player. According to Matthew's review of the London gig Jon Cain is playing a lot of rhythm guitar. Personally I would like to see him stick to the keyboards, not least because he looks so awkward with a guitar in his hands.

I think it would be cool if Journey employed a rhythm guitarist for the current tour. What do you think and who would you suggest?

I go for Tony Spinner.

You're dead right there. Didn't think for a minute that they would, do this but just thought it would be neat if they did.

Wouldn't bother them a bit. They made Augeri and Castronovo equal partners when they clearly could have made them "salaried employees." This argument doesn't hold water. There's enough $$$ to to go around if they want to do this. Money will not be an issue.

I agree...besides, if they DID bring in a rhythm player he would clearly be a salaried employee... I suggest Paul Stanley!!! 8)

It's an HM Strat. They came out in the late 80s. Larry said he loves it. I just wasn't using it all that much. I'd like to buy a standard Strat since I don't really care for the Floyd Rose style trems.

He plays geetar because it's easier to sequence (midi) keyboard tracks live. Plus it would really be obvious if there is a rythm geetar and no one on stage is playing it. ;)

Dan, where do you get this information. Whether or not they share as partners in profits, It is my understanding that the only ones with voting rights are Cain and Schon. I might be wrong (and I'll be glad to defer to someone reliable knowledge to the contrary, but I do no believe Augeri, Castro or Valory share in anything other than merch profits....

Tony Spinner is great...but he's obviously booked up with something. He was going to do Luke's tour but has already had to bug out due to schedules. He's not available.
