That is exactly the type of mindlessness I'd expect from moveon.org. I guess they know their audience.

If the Democrats had put forward people with good ideas, and the proven track record to see them through, I might be voting Democratic. Instead, their leading contenders for nomination were an unproven young politician who happens to be a fantastic orator, and the wife of a president who showed immense disrespect for the American public in lying to us.

I've been a registered Republican. I've been a registered Democrat. I am voting substance over style, experience over idealism. I am voting McCain.

There's another one out there showing a girl quickly getting dressed and leaving the guy in the bed because she discovered evidence he may be a Republican.

(also sarcastic) No way would they! Don't you know they're perfect. They could even improve on the Sermon on the Mount if their top orators had a chance to rewrite it (/additional sarcasm)

Great video and pretty dead-on accurate.
Any Conservative with a vestige of self-respect broke ranks and switched to Libertarian about a year ago (if not earlier).
Right now in Britain, the Conservative movement is fighting tooth and nail to preserve and defend their civil liberties.
Here, the Reich Wing merrily follows Georgie right over the precipice.
The American Right's recent hostile reaction to the Supreme Court's very fair Gitmo ruling serves, like a mesozoic fly stuck in amber, to reveal the truly authoritarian mindset at play.

I wondered how long it would be before our resident left-wing conspiracy nut would happen along to nod his agreement with the race baiting, over-generalization, and otherwise fast and loose handling of the truth. I would hate to have been disappointed.

I just decided not to dignify it with a response. Besides, he's probably busy wiping Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's ass and whipping up a nice bottle of warm milk for him.

The only people who visibly trade in conspiracies are your paranoid lot, who come here and mindlessly blame every toil of every day on the political left.

Let's see...You're the one who refused to answer the question on whether or not you are one of those 9/11 Truther nuts and it sure seems like you place even more blame on conservatives than I do on you leftists. Hypocrisy rears its ugly head once again.

WTF?

Might as well use this thread as the base from which to debunk more unfinished MR.com crypto-fascist bullshit.....
Surprise! surprise!
The above quote wasn't even talking about "Muslims" (which isn't a slur) it was talking about acts of violence perpetrated on Arab-Americans in the wake of 9-11.
Here's the real unaltered Obama quote:

"In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific reassurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

I did answer that - repeatedly - and I will say it yet again for good measure.
The deaths of over some 2000 innocent American citizens shouldn’t be trivialized as grist for your political mill.
Contrary to that water-logged chickpea brain of yours, liberals died in those towers too.

Ah, trying to twist the argument to your own advantage. I realize that all kinds of people died in those towers: white, black, liberal, conservative, tall, short, skinny, fat, ugly, beautiful, etc., etc. Yet you still avoid the question. You should be a politician. What are you afraid of?

It's not an argument.
It's an attempt by you, someone apparently so desensitized by his daily radio diet of McCarthyite demagoguery, that there is never a cow too sacred, never a pair of linens too dirty, so long as it helps sow the seeds of political rancor.
Even I draw the line somewhere.

Not really.
Paul Wellstone was a man who devoted his life to political causes.
I would've been more suprised if his memorial hadn't been in any way or shape political.
What does that have to do with the innocent victims of 9-11 and Dave using them as a political football?

What's the difference between that and democrat's using Katrina the same way?

Are you fucking shitting me, dude?
I think I could level the rolling plains of the Midwest and still come up short assembling a straw argument anything like that.

For those who have managed to read down this far without losing their grip on sanity, please avert your attention to RedWing’s post above.
Therein you will witness firsthand a textbook example of a lecherous GOP whore unbound by principle or truth.

Rather than slinging more politically-charged red herrings (Wellstone, Katrina), put down the chum bucket and politely step out of the line of fire.
Your strawberry dental dam-thin arguments simply aren’t worth the keystrokes.

For the record, whatever blame was ascribed to Mayor Nagin and Bush in the days following Katrina (minus the Kanye West sort) was pretty accurate.

I am an EX- Republican. NO WAY IN HELL I WILL VOTE REPUBLICAN AGAIN. NO WAY, NO HOW. WHEN HELL FREEZES OVER.

Look at the last eight years and tell me how that justifies voting Republican, IN ANY WAY.

I will vote DEMOCRAT. Hands down.
