I remember seeing "American Graffiti" when it first came out...at a drive-in theater (rest in peace)...who knew that cute guy in the yellow hot rod would become so famous?! Yep, reminds me of cruisin' in my older sister's car with her friends (she had to babysit us - lol. ) frosted lipstick and bouffants.

How could I forget - I still watch "Grease" - it came out in '79, right? I remember when I started High School in '74 it was pretty much the end of the greaser era...a few guys that always wore black leather jackets & greased hair & drove the old cars. My oldest brother in the 1960s, looked very much like John Travolta in this movie, and acted like him, too...had all the girls falling all over him.

it's one song that evokes a very sad time for me, during the summer of '72...it was playing a lot on the radio at the time by Bobby Vinton, but the original was from the 1960s. The lyrics rang true - had to say good-bye to someone & cried for what seemed forever...
