Looking for a new singer!!!

Postby G.I.Jim » Mon Jun 23, 2008 8:29 am

I've posted in a few other places for this, but I figured one more wouldn't hurt! As most of you know, I'm a keyboardist(formerly with Frontiers), and I've been working on a solo project for what seems like forever now. I've had several singers approach me over the last couple of years, but they've had serious pitch/vocal issues, or just flake out on me. If anyone here is a serious melodic rock vocalist, or knows one who may be interested....Just let me know. I have a LOT of material in various stages of completion, and PLENTY of enough songs for an album....Just no singer.

I'm also working on a few separate internet recording projects that will hopefully be seeing the light of day soon. I think many of you are going to really like one of the projects I've been working on, but we've still got mixing/editing and shopping around to record labels, before anything will be announced A few of the players have been mentioned quite a bit right here on MR. You should hear something on that front soon!

For anyone interested, check out my myspace for a few demo samples of my music.

If I could sing at all I'd be your man. But, sadly, you're SOL here.

Bumping it up and sharing the love though.

One question? Who is singing on "Long Night"? Is that you and if so why are you looking for a singer? :o Great tune, by the way!

I believe Jeremey handles lead vocals on "Long Night."

Also, Jim, quick question....

Who all's playing with you on these songs or do you do guitar, bass, drums, etc. all on your keyboards?

Thanks Deb, I appreciate it! That IS Jeremey on that version of "Long Night". I think he did a great job on that one. Since it wasn't me...THAT'S why I'm looking for a singer.

To answer your question Prog, I play everything you hear with the exception of a couple guitar parts. If I ever get a good vocalist on board, I'll take these songs into the studio with pro-musicians. They'll sound much better, and have a LOT more life to them. As they are, they're just rough writing demos. Having real drum tracks laid down will make all the difference in the world!

Thanks man, I appreciate it! Like I said, it'll sound MUCH better when I have a good vocalist, and can get these songs into the studio! Hopefully I'll find one before too long.

Bwahahahaa....nah, after those idiots passed over Kamala, for Arnie...you can snatch up Kamala and kick all sortsa white ass all over the world. Kamala was the better choice anyway....since he's still available...there'll be no need to slum it on youtube!

Thanks Alex,

I just checked out your myspace tunes, and they kick ass! You've got some serious talent there. When (not if) I get to the studio, I may be calling you up.

Thanks SG, PC, and Larry as well. I appreciate it! I've got a lot of songs you haven't heard, that I think you'd reall like. Once I get a singer lined up....hopefully you'll be able to hear them.

Thanks everyone so far for the interest also! I really appreciate it, and hopefully something will work itself out soon. Also, Thanks to Andrew for having this site for people like me. There are a lot of great musicians in here, and it's a great place to meet new people! Hopefully the world will hear more melodic rock tunes really soon!
