Glamourized? You mean Juno? What others? I hardly think films are changing the way kids think. More like Brittney & Jamie Lynn are glamourizing teen pregnancy. Ooh look how cute, Brittney's with her kids at the park. Awww. If you're blaming media influence, go after Extra, ET & shit like that.

Oh & speaking of Jamie Lynn, and her kid's daddy, why the hell isn't he in jail? He obviously had sex with her, and she was underage at the time. WTF?

Right on those counts too...the age of consent in Louisiana is 15 or 16 I believe...so that's why he isn't in jail.[/quote]

I totally agree that anyone that has sex with a minor should be punished. With that said-you must understand how totally impossible it would be to put them all in jail. I am an L&D nurse and we are required by law to notify police when we have a mom that's under 18 when the father is over 18. We usually call AT LEAST once or twice a week and we are a very small hospital-where would they put them all???? I have only seen police respond once when we called them-usually it just goes on the back burner and may or may not be investigated. The one time they did respond we had a 15 year old mom and the father was 20. They came and arrested him. The problem was that this girl was in immigrant and her family was still in California, she lived with her boyfriend and he took very good care of her. Her parents did not press charges at all and in fact were trying to find a way to give their permission for her to marry him. He was her only support system and after his arrest we had to put both the mom and the baby in foster care.......what a messed up world!!!

Absolutely right. Obviously, they knew how things worked as they planned specifically to get pregnant. Still, I'm amazed at the cluelessness of kids today. I guess I take my knowledge and experience for granted, so it's hard for me to understand stuff like this. They need a basic Economics class to teach them that it also takes money to raise a kid, and the best way to get money is to stay in school and get an education before having a kid.

Now apparently the Mayor is saying no proof has been confirmed that a pregnancy pact existed:

Its actually 17 now, i believe several of these have changed in the past few years. I know for a fact that Florida was 15 up until a few years ago, its now 18. If my memory serves ,South carolina Was the worst of the states ,Females only had to be 14yrs old.Image

I didn't like Juno or Knocked Up, but I can assure you, neither of them glamorized pregnancy.
"Knocked Up" goes so far as to show a crowning sequence complete with a synthetic Stan Winston vagina (RIP).
Most moviegoers in the stadium theatre screamed in horror.
