I think he is an AMAZING showman in concert and is alot of fun to behold.

I am a big fan of "Tall Stories", as well. I think there isn't a single bad track on there. Maybe I am giving the man too much credit, but I like to believe Augeri had a big hand in those songs' conception. If we're to believe Augeri was the key songwriter for "Tall Stories" than it is also safe to assume that yes, he CAN write and YES, without doubt, he CAN and WILL bring a great, influential writing talent to this band that will forever distinguish his sound from that of the "other guy" & leave a distinctive mark on his time within the group.
In fact, I think we can already see burgeoning signs of it on Red 13.
Only the next album will tell for sure.

Knowing That You Love Me (Maybe the worst song ever written by a human being, and Deen called it "The new Open Arms" before Generations came out)

I dunno...despite being a little too Boys II Men-ish I thought this was a pretty strong ballad.
I easily put this ahead of the slight "Turn Down the World Tonight," which everyone is going gah-gah over for some reason.

TNC...I admire your posts as they provide me top quality entertainment. They are well thought, hand crafted, forum gold.

That being said, I'll listen to Turn Down The World Tonight a hundred times straight while looking at pics of Monker typing naked at his computer before I will EVER listen to "Knowing That You Love Me" again.

I'll go with "With Your Love." Too freakin' sappy. "Lifetime of Dreams" was too, but if I have to pick one, that's it. Perry-era, it would be a coin-flip between "When I Think of You" and the Faithfully retread "Why Can't This Night Go On Forever."

I'm all for a good Journey ballad, but these all fall on the bad Journey ballad list.
