Please let us know {when you can] how your baby girl is doing. A daughter is always a dads baby. Of course you know that.

ALL of your thoughts and words have brought tears to my eyes tonight.
And today was a better day. Abby finally urinated this afternoon and
actually ate about 3 oz of food on her own. Even though she had a
wild diarhea fit minutes later, it is a good sign. The docs think she will be
out of this in a couple days so I can only hope and pray...

Once again, this community of oddballs, geeks, dweebs, Loons, Wigglers,
Sototarians, Republicans, Democrats, Euros and Saint John
 have risen
to the occasion and brought warmth and peace to my heart...

Thank you...

I'll keep you all posted...

Hey, bro -

I saw this late, and am so glad to see things are improving. I have a daughter, too, so I know exactly how I would feel if I was in your shoes. All the best for a speedy recovery, and I'm encouraged to know she's getting better.

Carlitto, having had 3 boys go through daycare centers, I can tell you stomach viruses are the easiest to pass around and quite common for little kids to come down with. If they won't/can't hold anything down, then hospitalization with an IV tube is the prescribed treatment. I know you and your wife are scared shitless and going thru that helpless feeling watching your baby girl laying in the hospital like that ... but rest assured once the virus passes in 5 days or so, she will be back to her normal perky self. And once she's up to eating in a day or 2, that IV will come off, and all of you will feel much better.

Why the hell would you use Carl's thread to make a social or political remark like this?

Sorry to rain on it, Hooks but this guy could and should have left the first part out and kept the second one in.

Doesnt sound like a social comment - it sounds like someone saying even if they dont pray or believe in it - that they still feel about Carlitto's situation and want to extend sypmathies and best wishes.

There was no judgement being made - its all good.....

Well, it's Thursday morning now and Abby will not eat again.
She will not drink anything either other than a few sips of apple juice
and has gone thru 6 diapers in the past hour!

I can only laugh sometimes cuz SHE laughs when she "squirts"
out her butt! My only comforts are that she is in the hospital getting care
and that she is handling this better than me and Mrs H@kk, laughing and giggling
and smiling the whole time. Doc says if we can get her eat/drink at least 3 oz
every 2-3 hrs, we can take her home so we're trying...

Not sure how much comfort this will be, but coming from a ped nurse, she looks great in that pic & the fact that she's laughing & smiling the whole time speaks volumes, truly. May take some time for her to want to eat again, drinking is more important at this point. (My daughter was 11 months old when we went through this with her for days too, I know it can wear you down with worry.)

Good news & hope she continues to improve & you can take her home soon. Best of luck getting her to drink.

Sorry folks - i didnt think i was making any kind of commentary - merely showing that one may not hold religious beliefs but still harbour positive thoughts and wishes for a little 'un. Very glad to hear she is on the mend and apologies to anyone who found my comment offensive. All the best to you and your family Carlitto.
