Their tour receipts this year will be the highest in over 20 years. They'll probably only trail The Eagles as far as bands in their peer group goes. Nothing is "ruined", Frank. Nothing.

I would fucking hope so. Like not touring from 1986 to 1998. Took a 10 year layoff and came back with the sole intention of destroying the Rolie/Chalfant lineup they had and canning the manager, thinking they'd never be able to recover. He was wrong.

You and a few others are the only ones that think that. GQ, Rolling Stone, The New York Times and Jimmy Page think otherwise. Even fucking lesbos like Ellen dig them now.

Gotta call bullshit on this statement. This will be their most profitable album per unit sold ever!!! They're making $7 per package!!! Back in the day you were lucky if you saw a buck or two!!!
strangegrey wrote:If you like what they're doing....fine. Enjoy it. But know that you're in that 3% tally...you really are. The rest of the world doesn't care unless Steve Perry is singing, irrespective of whether or not he can actually do the job. Perry doesn't want to return to something that's been pissed on as much as it has, irrespective of the amount of urine he contributed to the pile....that's really the main issue here.
3%??? Get real, dude. They used to tour, on average, to about 25,000 fans consistently night in and night out. They're now doing around 10-15 when they play outdoor amphitheatres, which, relative to the times, is pretty fucking awesome. You're making up numbers and trying to make them fit. Their tour receipts this summer will be HUGE. Yeah, they have 2 other bands, but they're the main draw. Shit, on the Generations tour they sold out Northerly Island in Chicago by themselves and it holds almost 8,000. This group is still a bigtime draw.
