"The Other"? Wasn't that the one where there was a bratty kid that jumped from a hayloft and landed on an upright pitchfork? I still carry that icky image.

Yup, that's the one! I'll have to dig out my VHS copy and watch that one again.

To this day I can't watch scary movies...I was traumatized as a kid by them...made worse by the BIG screen. All those creepy movies like, "Hush, hush Sweet Charlotte", "Whatever happened to Baby Jane", "some weird freaky movie with a ship and creepy people I don't want to remember", "The Boston Strangler", The Hell's Angels movies, etc. I had a weird childhood.

They had the opposite effect on me. I can't get enough of them. My wife only watches horror and Lifetime movies.

Agreed. Greatest thing ever.
Started watching them young and haven't stopped with a favorite being the purebred '70s and '80s slashers.

Don't mean to take this thread off topic, but what did you think of the "Grindhouse" flicks, 13? DeathProof and Planet Terror?

How could I forget the Wizard of Oz? I remember when I was a little girl it would come on TV about once a year-that was like a second Christmas for me! I LOVED that movie!

I just remembered one I thought was funny. I think it was called The Ghost and Mr. Chicken. With Don Knotts. That one cracked me up. And the scary one for me was Last House On the Left.
On my way to better things......I found myself some wings

Huge fan of scary movies here - always have been, even as a kid. I loved those ones you mentioned Tammy, plus the older Dracula movies. And Burnt Offerings? - scared the crap outta me too - mainly because when I got home from the theatre my boyfriend's brother, who bore a remarkable resemblance to the creepy chauffeur in the movie, jumped out of the dark and scared me. I'll never forget that (but still watch the movie when it's on the tube  )

Oooo - forgot my favorite - The Haunting (the original, not the crappy Haunting of Hill House remake). Although watching it years later - not that scary.
