NWA #1 on Cleveland's 98.5 WNCX

Postby Ehwmatt » Fri Jun 27, 2008 5:38 am

Hey guys,

Just picked up Cleveland Scene (the preeminent free music/culture magazine in Cleveland) and lo and behold, I get to to the top 15 radio songs and Cleveland's Classic Rock 98.5 WNCX's playlist is being topped by none other than NWA. I've definitely heard it there a few times and the only time I listen to commercial radio is when I forget my iPod at home. Good stuff

Yea, it's not 1970 anymore. You're about as fashionable as a dick with sideburns

Went to Cleveland when my buddy's sister was dating Jim Thome and had a blast. Great city. The Flats rocked. Very clean place. This was in 1993 I believe. Maybe things have changed, but it sure was nice when I was there. 8)

Heheh, I went to school for a semester out in Connecticut near NYC and there's nothing about northeastern snobbery towards Cleveland that will surprise me or offend me. But I always must defend it cuz it's been good to me. Unsurprisingly, I clicked on his profile and see Interests: New York Yankees. Probably just bitter about the raping they got in the division series last October from a shitty Indians team.

I've lived here since 1990. It's a great place to live - low cost of living, three mainstream sports teams, literally hardly any traffic for a city this size, the main city is mostly safe, and we basically get every concert that you can get. It's gone through some rough patches here and there, but mostly a long time ago. People can't seem to let go.

Agreed. Place seemed very well rounded, all things considered.

And the Cuyahoga River has stopped catching fire, so that's a plus too.

Clevelanders are great people, and it's a pretty cool place, although I couldn't attest to the night life scene.

The only thing about Cleveland that's negative that sticks out is that its professional sports teams suck donkey balls. Boston has won 26 championships since the last time Cleveland won ONE.

Other than that, though...great town.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

As an eternally suffering Browns & Cavs fan, I can only say that the best part about our perennial heartbreaks and struggles is that it brings people together. Our collective misery as fans is always at least part of an extended conversation that any of my friends have together.

As a Cincinnati fan, I can feel your pain.... even though the Reds HAVE kicked ass before, a long time ago.

I root for the Cavaliers in basketball. Yeah yeah I'm a LeBandwagoner but he's gotten me into basketball again.

I'm on the west side of Cleveland right near Lakewood.

I have a store in Lakewood called City Dweller.

I play Journey and Styx dvd's on our flat screen in the store. Clevelander's still love their classic rock.

Of course i have to respond to a CTown post. 98.5 rocks! It was the first and only station that I've actually heard a song from Revelation played. The DJ in the early afternoon went to my elementary school so maybe thats why we both like Journey :) I've heard him say a lot of good things about the new album, so at least they are promoting it somewhat. Oh, I too also love Cedar Point. After all, I did get engaged their.
