MR can now look for avatars to replace W2's beloved Friga. How long is to be determined. Some good time constraints mentioned to me are A)The Summer B)For as long as Journey is on tour C)until they hit Platinum D) All of the above
E)Until W2 can't stand it no more

I'll affirm my previous prediction again: 'Revelation' goes platinum by the end of the U.S.-leg of the summer tour (c. October 1st), after 17 weeks on the charts.
Touring with Heart and Cheap Trick will turn-out to be a good business decision. It opens-up a whole new market to 'Revelation' who probably won't purchase it before the concert tour, but possibly will after hearing the new songs in concert.
Journey will have to sell 243,928 albums (x2) in the 12 weeks between July 9 and October 1 for the album to go platinum. These just happen to be the 12 weeks of the tour. They'd have to sell at least 20,327 albums each week, for 12 weeks.
(And I haven't even included next week's album sales in the totals. That'll probably be another 15,000 x 2, at least.)
Prediction: I think 'Revelation' will be able to sell 20,000+ albums per week, and the album will stay in the top 20 throughout the period. It'll be platinum by the end of the U.S. tour.

Give it up. I reckon given the same deal and promotion through Walmart Revelation as a single disc package would have reached gold status within six months easily.
The fact that it is doing so well is the icing on the cake for a what has been a great 2008 thus far for the band.

Not that I'm trying to belittle the success of the new album, but do you think it would've done as well as quickly if it had been just the new album and not the DVD and the re-recorded greatest hits?

Why are so concerned which "door" Journey enters to get into the Gold room? It's Gold...deal with it.

But it's not. Transparency rears his ugly head.

Because it's not genuinely gold. 500,000 units were not sold. That means 500,000 people do not own this CD package. That means it didn't truly earn it's gold status. That means it has yet to equal let alone surpass previous album sales.
By this math, why not put together a disk package containing 10 disks with one song per disk next time? That way they can reach platinum status even though only 100,000 people will have paid for it. It's not honest math.
