PACQUIAO: a “GENTLEMAN” from the Philippines tearing it up…

I know most of you may not care about boxing …but you may want to check this out. Some Boston Celtics stars rooted for him, and I can understand why.

Video: http://pacquiaovideo.com/2008/06/boston ... manny.html

In the brutal world of boxing---I was just impressed at how this 4-weight class champ, Manny Pacquiao, showed unexpected act of sportsmanship and kindness when he tried to lift his fallen, badly-beaten (KO’ed in 9th round) opponent, David Diaz, last Saturday night in Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas (see video below at 20:51). He further showed a very friendly gesture with Diaz during the after-fight interview at ringside (see video below at 15:20).

Video: http://www.zimbio.com/pilot?ZURL=%2FBox ... F142992%2F

"I thought they could have stopped the fight sooner," Pacquiao said. "I asked the referee, and he told me, 'Go ahead and continue.' "

That was a great fight. Diaz was made to look like a flat footed oaf when the reality is very different. Pacquiao is widely regarded as the best pound for pound fighter in the world now that Floyd (always on the backfoot) Mayweather Jr has 'retired'.

Journey needs to contact Manny Pacquiao and have him play What It Takes To Win before his fights. Either that or make a video of him knocking the shit out of people set to that song.

What it takes to Win = Filler.

It's a fucking sports song, dude. The lyrics are always going to be cliche, a la Eye Of The Tiger or Burning Heart. However, those songs have monstrous potential if they catch on. The Final Countdown is another "filler" song that was popular worldwide. I doubt Journey gives a shit that you think it's filler. The song has potential, relative to why it was written. Pacquiao could give that song worldwide exposure. And they're countrymen. The partnership would be perfect. 8)

With due respect to RedWingFan, I agree with you, Saint J---TOTALLY!
If I were the business manager of Pacquiao & Journey, I would be very excited about your idea---and explore the possibility right away!

I don't give a shit that Journey doesn't give a shit. It's still filler. The ONLY thing that could make this song worse is if it started out, "Four hundred years ago...."

I've been told the same about Barack Obama.

Good packaging, presentation, and timing can often make wonders in the marketplace....regardless of what you and I think.

Nice vid find Edcha. KG is a class act. Humble, hardworking and no off-court shenanigans at all. Even though he's left the T-Wolves everyone here still loves him. When he gets enshrined in the hall of fame, he said it'll be in his T-Wolves jersey.

No words to describe the Pac-man's achievements.

Wonder though if he can take KG? Naaah. Maybe if KG stays on his knees.

MMA sucks. As soon as fights go to the ground its boring as hell, there's no excitement, no back and forth.

UFC seems to be a well run organisation though.

Thanks, aardivark.

I think it was the promoter Bob Arum who said..."Manny is a heavyweight hiding in the body of a lightweight" or something like that (?). Maybe he can take on bigger guys...not KG though! Aside from the size difference, they have too much respect for each other.
:D  :D
