That's sweet, Only Solutions...maybe, the band will play that song at the concert you are attending (which one?) - I've heard that happening before - oh, like to me. :) Thanks for sharing.

Yowza, GB I just saw your avatar...where'd that come from? Never saw it and I don't think I've ever seen SP do that in all the clips I've seen.

It's from the Departure tour in Japan. He is singing Stay Awhile. The audio from Lights/Stay Awhile that you hear on the Captured Album is from this performance. As they part from each other he begins to sing “I'm fallin”. I've never seen him be this intimate with a fan in any of the other videos out there. It's a one of a kind moment.

I was 14 when I went to that Stones show in 81 so i'm not that old
I think being outside all the time when I was S.OPS in the service might have been pretty good for me, not to mention I spent 6 years in Asia and eating the local food may have helped (I mean look at Arnel, the guy looks like a stripling next to the other guys in the band and he's a little older then me), Oh and good genes from my parents :D

I agree, you aren't old...but you do look younger than that~baby face!!!!
Asian food you say, hmmmm!!!!

Yeah go after her

My advice about Journey music and dates - When you get the girl in the car, instead of playing Journey ballads, play Edge of the blade repeatedly on the car stereo, singing at the top you lungs whilst pumping your fist and driving at 95 mph and perodically turning the wheel down hard to the left so you go in circles very fast.

If she craps her pants and if she doesnt get embarrased or laughs at the smell, you know you got a good woman there. Youll have some fun

If she doesnt crap herself, then you know shes tough as nails. Marry her immediately and have 8 kids.

Works every time.

You better not be one of those who criticize Neal.

Rick wrote:My first concert, ever was the '81 Journey Escape tour show. I had a date with me that was way out of my league, but you couldn't have asked for a better night. 10 years or so later, an old voice from the past called telling me about that girls death from an overdose. Another 10 years later, I'm driving down the highway with my daughter in the car, and Open Arms came on the radio. For some reason that girls memory flooded my mind and I just started crying like a baby. My daughter was probably 8 at the time, didn't know what the hell was going on.

Music is a very powerful thing, and if you've found someone that enjoys the same music you do, that's really pretty special. Especially a band like Journey. People just love to hate Journey. My wife says if she never hears another Journey song, it'll be too soon. And I can't listen to her music. Country. UGH!

Think about sinking some claws into that girl and keeping her. There are jobs in every city.

Between Rick's post and the other guy's, I think it sounds like a good time to resurrect Appreciation threads.

Only Solutions, if your story were true---I salute you! My impression is that very few MEN, especially in this forum, will be brave enough to dare show their soft side by starting a new post re: a true personal sweet story like yours--without feeling less manly. I'm really surprised to find a wholesome thread with no angry---and very few-- four-letter words! Good job and good luck!

That is why I had to share the story, it was a very poignant moment for me. My friends that know me, know that I normally fit into that category of a man who doesn't show his soft side. Don't get me wrong, I like to drink and curse and belch just as much as the next guy. But as I said, this girl is one in a million and I really wanted folks to know how relevant Journey STILL is in people's lives.

Well-taken, OS. It's a refreshing break from the regular threads--especially for new posters like myself.

I beg your pardon. Journey are real people. Correction, you're right they're not real people....they're SUPERSTARS!

How do we know this guy is real? I personally think he is. Unfortunately, if he chases her as most here are saying, it will probably end with the song, LTS.
