Geovany Soto of the Chicago Cubs will be the first rookie ever voted in to start the All-Star game. Congratulations to him and all of the people that voted for him. I guess my 20 or so votes helped after all!!! This is a tremendous accomplishment for a rookie and he is well deserving of the honor. He's having a great year. Anyone have him on their fantasy team?

My daughter is a huge Cubs fan, and she is really excited about it! My dad is a lifelong Cubs fan, and I'm sure he is absolutely thrilled. I haven't talked to him about it yet, because I really don't feel like talking about the Cubs for an hour. :) My dad is like a savant when it comes to Cubs trivia. He actually went to one of the World Series games in the 1940s at Wrigley. He was a teenager at the time, and he took the bus after he got off work and got there in the 4th inning. He said the Cubs lost that game. My dad will be 80 this year, so the Cubs better hurry up and win a World Series!

Well I certianly hope they win a World series while your dad is alive. He's been around for far too many terrible seasons. Lifelong Cubs fans deserve to see them win a World Series. But it's not going to be this year unless they sign another top notch pitcher.

I won't tell my dad that you said that! My husband used to be a Cubs fan, but they broke his heart in 1984 and he couldn't handle it anymore!

Congrats to Soto. I didn't vote this year but I probably would've voted for McCann from Atlanta just barely over Soto. Molina from SF would've been a good pick as well.

We had a guy in our league take him in the 11th round. It's STILL a bad pick, because he could've had him a lot later.

I respectfully request that any topic with a Soto other than JSS have the whole name of the other Soto in the thread name so some of us don't get all excited thinking it is THE Soto.

Thank you.

I totally missed out on fantasy baseball this year but those two picks are paying big dividends so far. I'm surprised he didn't also end up with Chipper Jones also!
