Ont. Cops Save David Lee Roth's Life
Van Halen frontman suffers near fatal reaction

Two Ontario police officers have been credited with saving the life of Van Halen singer David Lee Roth - after he suffered a severe allergic reaction.

The rocker was pulled over on a stretch of highway in Oakland, Ontario on June 8 for speeding, and when cops approached the vehicle, they realized the star was in anaphylactic shock.

Roth has an allergy to nuts and was suffering a severe reaction after coming into contact with a contaminated substance.

The officers called an ambulance and kept Roth calm until paramedics arrived on the scene, according to CTV.ca.

Constable Chris Thompson admits he didn't realize that he was dealing with a famous rock star when he attended to the crisis.

He says, "At the time I wasn't star struck, I was just trying to help him. The guy stuck out like a sore thumb. He was wearing a little silk scarf and flashy clothing - it's not something you see in Oakland too often."

Nut allergies are scary stuff. I worked with somebody that had one......he had a major reaction in one of our meetings from a cookie that had only been by one that had nuts in it.

I may write these two officers a letter of thanks. Seriously.

This almost makes me want to do an impromptu Appreciation Thread for the officers.

David Lee Roth is the greatest FRONTMAN of all time. Period.

I'm very glad those officers did save him. He's a.) too young and b.) too cool. He can go ahead a stick around a while longer. Hopefully do more commentary on VH1 specials, too. Roth of Love, anybody?? :)

Constable Chris Thompson Appreciation Thread

Thank you for you and your partner, who's name I don't know, for saving one of the greats of the world, Diamond David Lee Roth. This world would not be the same if there was no Diamond Dave. From his martial arts background producing kicks to his high flying drum riser jumps, only closely parrelled by Arnel Pineda, to his gift of gab, Diamond is a true great in not only the music industry but the world...and you and your partner saved him. Bottom line, Dave is the greatest jew since Jesus.

I hope your superiors recognize this great service to the world you provided and reward you with Officer of the Year, pay raises, and extra vacation days. For millions of people around the world, I say thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Not only did you save Dave, you saved a part of my and many others' lives. Thank you again.

Note: If I get tossed for this, it was worth it. It needed to be said.

Why??? I think the world could survive with one less egotistical asshole around. Though I must say this...that dirtbag sure put on a much better show than I expected and I was very surprised at how strong his voice was. I must also say that the Van Halen crowd was the foulest I've ever seen. I'm sure Sammy had the much classier following...then again that's not saying too much.

Yes. Seriously scary stuff. My friend's 2 year old became violently ill on an airplane just from being in the vicinity of where something with peanuts had been. He didn't even eat or so much as touch a peanut. She thinks it might have been from him touching the tray table.

I started developing allergies when I was 18. Never had a problem as a kid. I have a few that are pretty serious and one (known) allergy that could send me into anaphalaxis. Not funny shit by any means. Glad DLR is ok.

I'm glad things worked out. I am allergic to nuts as well, but the worst that happens to me is I just feel like crap for awhile, nothing serious. I've heard of all the people that have it MUCH worse, and consider myself lucky.
Rock on,

Anyone who thinks anaphylactic shock isn't serious should read this, although I have to wonder how the guy could not know he was eating a dish that was different from what he ordered. Still tragic, though.

Hey, man, Tito made me go. It was the day before Revelation came out and we picked it up at 12:01 am at a Wal Mart on the way home. I had a blast, but Roth is so full himself it's sickening. Watching Tito drool for a "high 5" was priceless, though!!! We had 2nd row right and the catwalk was next to Tito. He was smiling like a lesbian that just ate a peanut butter and pussy sandwich.

There was a country parody of sorts, can't think of the guy's name, but the song was 'They Don't Make Jews Like Jesus Anymore".
