There used to be a lot of them, but a lot of them shut down.

Here's one.

powertabs.net was the best

Of course the MPA raped it. ultimate-guitar is OK, and it's based in Russia I think so it can't be touched.

If one can read music, why the need for "cheater" tools like tab? :P

In all seriousness, sight reading for guitar is a real bitch most of the time unless you know exactly how every little part in the song goes. Even then it's tricky because you might not necessarily know the right chord voicing to play and such.

Two things,

1) Why is something that makes it EASIER to convey a musical idea a "cheater tool"?
2) Why all the "put-downs" from you? You make yourself sound like an elitist asshole.

Food for thought...

Tabs are immensely valuable... they've helped me alot, and I DO know how to read music.

I don't see why anyone would have anything against them.

LOL...it picked up all the old OLGA tabs - I miss that site.

I laugh, because it grabbed all the shit I wrote, tabbed and uploaded back in college. Apparently my stuff is "difficult" to play, according to Chordie's ratings.

Same here prog - it just speeds things up when you are in a hurry.
I just printed the tab to the solo from Come up and see me (make me smile) as it was too "busy" to get it by ear in a couple of sittings......

By the way - i turned on Planet Rock last night just as Marillion kicked in with Market Square Heroes...do you like that? I love it
And Fugazi was on the other nite - class.....

I'm a market square hero
Gathering the storms to troop!

Not disagreeing. Just having flashback to the days of the metalheads blaring the same three chords out of their electric guitars and saying, "why the fuck does anyone bother with that sheet music bullshit" and not knowing what a key change was if it bit 'em in the ass.

Here's some food for thought as well. Learn to recognize a smiley for the jest involved.

Sensitive much?

For what it's worth - my alltime favorite guitarist - Terry Kath - couldn't read music. Some people just got talent, plain and simple.
