THANKS!

I hadn't seen that one before.

What an experience
By Scott I felt I was there.

Electric only begins to describe it

Wow, I really wasn't on top of Journey with JSS
I guess I hate to see someone fill someone elses shoes
& Jeff was gone before I could really get myself to explore it.

I am sorry for that now
but I guess we all have to move to own tempo.

Now that I've seen him away from that beautiful mess
I can really appreciate the gift he has
& be thankful for his expereince with Journey.

Wow, he really soars with deeper sound but still thrills
Jeff is a miraculous force of nature!

Whilst you are here have you heard a song Eric Martin sings on called Never Good-bye by TMG (Tak Matsumoto Group) ? It popped up in the middle of a Japanese movie I was watching last night (Ultraman) and I recognised the voice straight away. Needless to say I was quite surprised and actually quite liked it.

Just in case you don't have it -

I used to watch the television show Ultraman in the 80's. It was fucking GREAT. So was Johnny Sokko And His Flying Robot.

This movie was a revamp made in 2004 and was pretty awesome. It had a lot of heart and some surprisingly good 'man in suit' monster FX!

The intro is Perry singing a verse...and they played it backwards...don't know what he was actually singing, but it sounds cool!

And Jeff is awesome on all the Journey material...but especially on this one.

.....and this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8T1XAdw ... re=related

God that clip has been thrown around this board so much lately its getting really tired. Still a solid version of a great song though.

I haven't see that Soundcheck clip posted here in at least a year. Sorry dude, must have missed seeing it posted.

Its all good I just have the feeling that i've been 'Rick Rolled' everytime I click on it! Oh not this again!

Aw man, I clicked on it. When will I learn?

Thanks muchly. I do have the TMG cd and dvd.....that song kicks major butt live on the dvd too. One of my favorite concert dvds, Trapped and I Wish You Were Here........are a couple favorites. Would love to see Jack and Eric do something again. Too bad they didn't bring TMG over to North America, from what I've read....Tak didn't want to. :(

Couple of other good ones from the dvd:

I know that's what you meant. But instead of just staying out of the thread you've given into the temptation to stir things up a little. You're actually saying: "You all remember me. I'm the guy who has been causing trouble all week on this board by slagging off JSS and now I'm going to post in this thread seeking praise for not saying what you all know what I'm thinking..which is that that clip was a load of crap and the guy should never have fronted Journey...but by reminding you of what I'm not saying I am - in effect - saying it anyway."

MOL is well suited for Jeff's baritone voice. This song sounds very good. Anything pre-Frontiers sounded pretty bad, though. They should have played more TBF, ROR and Frontiers while he was fronting the band.

JSS doing Opened The Door was pretty good I thought...and he didn't quite pull off After The Fall...but I essentially agree with you Saint John. The highlight of JSS's time in the band - for me - was his performance of I'll Be Alright Without You. It was at the Hollywood show I think - or possibly the one before that.

Anyway...I remember hearing that and feeling excited about a post-Perry Journey line-up for the very first time....

After The Fall is one of those unique songs that sets Perry apart from pretty much everyone else. Deen does a decent rendition, but that song is pretty much one of Perry's shining moments as an emotive vocalist, and replicating such a vocal is really an unfair thing to be asked of anyone.

True...and to be fair to JSS he did almost pull it off. It was just the last third of the song that proved to be slightly beyond him.
