Turn Down the World Tonight better than

After All These Years????

The more I listen, the more I like TDWT over AATY.

Really...Both are excellent songs, but something about TTWT just grabs me more.

Anyone else?

i prefer TDTWT too. the piano melody is more memorable to me. i like the delicate, soothing feel of the song.

I feel the same way! If you've heard Cains Wedding March it has the same tone. I really like After All These Years. However, Turn down the world tonight has a slight edge.

Yeah, I really like AATY too...just something about TDTWT just seems more relavent to my life lately...you know...lots of work, lots of pressure and just being able to turn down the world would be a awsome!

When OA & Faithfully got overplayed, I got sick of them (and they're great ballads). This is starting to happen with AATY for me.

TDTWT isn't an in your face "power ballad". It's a good mellow song along the lines of STR and SHML so I think it'll be more of a favorite in the long run. Deen's vocal backup and the great guitar work keep it from getting boring.

TDTWT is their best ballad since Faithfully. Yes, I like it more than WYLAW. :)

Watched a bit of Revelation:

Neal looks like he ate the Cheshire Cat.

Drink it in
It's a blessing when the universe bestows upon you a dream come true.

Arnel is phenominal
Kudos to him

Really does come close to the Perry pipes & very enjoyable

Now for the rest of us

We got dreams to taste of our own...

I concur 100%. In fact, I think it's only topped in the power ballad category by Faithfully & Mother, Father.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

AATY could pass for modern country while TDTWT has more of a gritty rock sound. I Had my player on random and when TDTWT came on I had to look to see who the artist was. It has a different vocal pacing which I like.

I like both songs. I heard "After All These Years" on the radio for the first time tonight. I had been playing the CD in the car and decided to turn on the radio & it came on a little while later...on KOST the soft rock station in L.A.

KOST played it at lunch also. Looks like they're gonna use it to promote the tour. And they had Lea Solanga (a filipina) in studio this morning to promote her disney concert, not that it has anything to do with Journey, I was just working the filipino angle.

''Modern Country''???? WTF....'After all these years' is a massive AOR ballad if ever there was one.
