That, I just can't seem to understand.

Neal's life when he takes off his guitar is his business.

He's trying to find love.
Give him some credit
Least he honors the women in his life by marrying them.

It's hard to find love in the spotlight
never knowing if someones feelings
are more connected with the personna
than the real person within.
I would even dare to say
some of it wasn't even his fault.

Why even blame Neal
afterall it takes two to make it last.
We don't know what went wrong & its none of our business

Whatever, I didn't take it that way. My fight is not with you....nor is it with Mathew. I was posting in this thread with very clear and undisruptive intentions. I wanted to point out that there are two legitimate sides to this argument that have equal merit...

...and that's what this and other sub-journey online communities need...an ability to look at your argument/side and be able to see the other side and empathize. The point I was making was genuine, real and very empathetic to all those involved in this thread.

For some piece of shit to come in and challenge *my* faith when what I was suggesting was that each and every persons judgments were their *own* judgements, and right or wrong, VALID judgments.....was NOT an antagonistic post.

Mathew, I'm still waiting for your apology on this. You were out of line and you know it.

1. You were so young when you joined Santana (15 or so I think), what would your advice be to Miles as far as his musical future?

2. Why did you decided to join Santana instead of Eric Clapton?

3. If you could say anything publically to Perry, honestly, what would it be?

You really are a major league schmuck, Franklin. Put a sock it in it. It's getting old.

I made an entirely legitimate comment that if you were looking to a rock star like Neal Schon for moral leadership and spiritual guidance then you are looking in the wrong place. Yes, he is a public figure but there are hundreds of different types of public figures. If he was a preacher or a conservative commentator lecturing us on marriage and faith then his personal life would be relevant. He would be a hypocrite given his track record in this area. But Neal Schon has never claimed to be anything other than what he is: a hard-touring guitar player. And in reality...he tours relentlessly and plays guitar. It does what it says on the tin...

I'm not disputing for a moment that we all have the right to interpret music in our own way. I agree with you on that. And I'm sorry you can't feel inspired or moved by Journey's music because Neal Schon has commitment issues.

But to attack him for being phoney and hypocritical as a man and as a musician suggests to me that you have an almost delusional expectation of him that he has never asked for or encouraged. Where you got this expectation from is beyond me. There are more Journey songs lamenting the break-up of relationships than there are celebrating the joys of staying with your first wife.

So you might spare yourself a lot of angst if you let go of this unrealistic expectation and accept the guy for who he is and move on. Any two-bit counsellor could tell you that.

While it's ok for Mathew to get away with what he does? Nice double standard there, andrew! The problem is while allowing the ntagonistic behavior, you are inviting people to react to them harshly. Read my posts throughout this ENTIRE thread and tell me and anyone else here with a straight face, that I've been anything other than clear and respectful to all those that posted with respect to my posts, save for this prick. How do expect me to act? If you were a non-moderating poster in any other forum, you would *not* have reacted kindly to this at all!

NO You did not make a legitimate comment and you know it. My statement was *not* suggesting that I seek moral leadership and spiritual guidance from the likes of Neal Schon. You *grossly* misrepresented what I said and threw a rather nasty insult behind the guise of said misrepresentation. While I've come to expect your misrepresentation around here , you really need to get a hand hold on it. You either missed the 2nd grad entirely (and need to go back) when they taught reading comprehension or you're just a complete and utter asshole, what is it? I'm guessing the later.

I will ask you kindly, to refrain from posting in response to anything I say here or elsewhere. Thats all I'm going to say. Walk away, go back to whatever it is you do in your real life....and ignore the urge to respond to anything that I say or elsewhere. You were warned...

I've been thinking about Neal.
He was in a successful band from age 15. Probably got lots of yes-men agreeing with his every word, and making him feel important. And lots of groupies hanging round. And loads of flunkies doing everything for him. For years - and all starting at age 15. Wow.

Now that is pretty young to be getting that kind of attention. An unreal kind of life, I suppose. And not really a good foundation to learn how to sustain a relationship with a woman. Or how to deal with other people's feelings.
When I have seen him interviewed, he has always come over as a little goofy, not taking things very serious and maybe not very bright.
I think his talent with the guitar is the only way he can express himself - because he does not have the 'people skills' to do it any other way.
He is not a talker. He speaks with his guitar. He doesn't know how to do it any other way and bumbles on as best he can. It is too late now for him to change that, I think.
I have never met him - and I am still furious with how he handled the JSS firing etc. I see him as the boss of the band. So I think it was his ultimate responsibility to handle things like that.
I absolutely understand that JSS was not the singer they wanted - and I am fine with that, but it's the handling of it [as everyone probably knows if they've read my posts before] that still gives me a bad taste in my mouth.
I am not excusing his behaviour, but I am trying to look at it another way.
I don't think this man who has been living in a rockstar's bubble for all these years has ever learned the necessary people skills to handle such a situation any different. The little star with an immense talent who never grew up, maybe?

However, I am one of those people who can separate his music from the man to a certain extent.
I can listen to the music and enjoy it, but I don't want to be in his circle of mates. ha ha - if I was, I just wouldn't be able to resist giving him a bollocking for all that has happened - and then I think I would be banished form his circle of mates pretty quick!

But oh how I would love to invite him, SP, SA and JSS round for tea and get them talking.
I'd bang their heads together for a start!

Anyone for tea and cakes?

Have we learned nothing from Commissioner John Wiley Price and the "More Words I Can't Say" thread?

Frank, perhaps Andrew would be more tolerant if you could say "Please go sexually gratify yourself and then cease breathing."
