While I can't speak for Tito I think you should start completely over from the original picture and add something every 3 or 4 days. I think a hot pink turban would be funny as hell!!!

I don't get the connection or any real logic between songwriting and Steve Perry singing the new ballads nowadays. did you mean SP can turn a cheesy ballad into a great one just by singing it? boy, cant wait for him to sing an "I love to masturbate" lyric without making him appear like a perv.

have to agree, i think most newer albums from classic artists, that wont get massive airplay, dont get imbedded in our brain, and wont stand out because we will go back to the classics, turn down, and change are the best songs, on a very good release.

There's no "I" in "Team" y'all. :)

Like Saint John used to say to the college baseball coach, "There's no we either."

The more I listen, the more I like TDWT over AATY.

Really...Both are excellent songs, but something about TTWT just grabs me more.

Anyone else?

TDTWT has grown on me, too. it is more mature. AATY is so cheesy to me.

Agreed. I still love AATY a lot and would pick it to be played at my 50th wedding anniversary; but it's becoming a bit cheesey right now. TDTWT is sounding more mature.

However, What I Needed is fast becoming my favorite on this CD.

AATY is like Open Arms and TDTWT is like Faithfully. AATY and Open Arms are vocally stunning but pretty generic and by the numbers musically. Faithfully and TDTWT are more intricate and you discover something new as you listen to them more. AATY and Open Arms are pretty much the same thing over and over; not much you won't hear during the 2nd listen that you didn't hear the first time. I keep hearing cool new parts every time I listen to TDTWT...it simply has more staying power because of its more complex design.

PS I better be invited to that 50th anniversary!!! :) 8)

I completly agree.

TDTWT reminds me alot of Faithfully. Particually APs great notes that he hits at the end, fantastic.

And Fleischman over the other shoulder.

''Modern Country''???? WTF....'After all these years' is a massive AOR ballad if ever there was one.

Had a discussion on this some time ago. AATY could easily be a modern country duet. Yes, it's very good like it is. But every time I hear it, it just screams country crossover duet, especially with supporting video. This song tells a very Americana-type story about a midwest high school couple that got married early, had typical hardships, but fought through everything. And now, looking back, they appreciate each other even more. This is a great American story that - IMO - would have huge commercial success on country radio as a duet, where the couple is trading lines back & forth and then doing some harmony thing on the chorus. This is a song that could easily be a high school prom theme, wedding theme, and/or very much Anniversary celebration material. But I don't think the way it is now lends itself too much to that. People would tend to personalize it more, if it were an actual couple singing it to each other.

And yes, 'Turn Down the World Tonight' is the best song on the album. The melody is kinda haunting, definitely lingering, and it just takes you to a certain place every time. 'Why Can't This Night Go On Forever' always did that to me. 'Who's Crying Now' still does. This song is just as good as those two.

Agreed on all levels. TDTWT is the one song on the disc I listen to every day and don't get tired of. "Haunting" is a perfect word for it.
