The Canadian man suspected of impersonating Van Halen singer David Lee Roth reportedly has a history of convincing people to do his bidding, up to and including murder. According to Ontario, Canada's Simcoe Reformer, David Kuntz of Cambridge, Ontario, was involved in a brutal murder case in 1988. When Kuntz announced he was going to marry Rowena Parsons, girlfriend Kim Blinkhorn purchased an eight-inch carving knife and attacked Parsons, stabbing her 70 times as Parsons' and Kuntz's three-year-old daughter looked on in horror. Blinkhorn claimed Kuntz told her that her "job" was to kill Parsons. A psychologist testified that Blinkhorn was delusional when she stabbed Parsons and was "deeply disturbed." Blinkhorn was found not guilty by reason of insanity, and sentenced to custody in a mental hospital.
Kuntz, who has also used the name David P. Angel, was stopped by police for speeding on May 23rd. Claiming he was having an allergic reaction to nuts in a donut he'd eaten, he identified himself as David Lee Roth and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Later that evening, Lutz partied at a local nightclub, posing for photos and identifying himself as Roth, even as the real Roth was appearing that night at Madison Square Garden in New York City with Van Halen.
