Don't tell me you have this crazy perception of Canada too! :-)

When I lived in Minneapolis, I used to always get asked if it was "cold in Toronto" and hear other people say, "I'm flying north to Toronto" (which is actually southeast of Minneapolis on the map.)

Even the other day, a coworker in one of the southern states asked me if there was snow on the ground. It's 100 degrees outside, which made the comment even funnier.

Nah, he was just teasin. I was actually the first one to play into the goofball perception that some people have that we all live in igloos. I wouldn't trade all four seasons for anything, love it. It's supposed to be smokin' hot here this weekend too. :D

LOL at those Molson beer....american vs. canadian commercials.

I've gotten that my whole life from people I've met outside the midwest. The worst culpits are in the east and south. They have no concept of what goes beyond their little world and don't make an effort at all to find out. And they are the ones that call people from the midwest ignorant and backwards.

On the way back from a vacation in Fla one time with a bunch of girlfriends, a guy boarding in Atlanta sitting next to us asked where we were all(y'all) from. We said, MN, SD, IA and NE. He goes, "wow, I've never been that far west, the furthest I've been is Denver"

*sigh*

No other place
I want to be
then
Right here
Looking into the eyes of destiny
Is where I want to be
In this space & time
I have never felt
so happy to be alive!

i'm talking in the last 5 or 6 decades from 1950 up until right now which year would you go to?

i'd probably travel back to 1978 and catch journey with a brand new vocalist steve perry, catch a killer new band called van halen,go see styx on the pieces of eight tour, watch boston tour behind don't look back,go see KISS at the height of its powers in a live setting,go see a brand new band called the cars,go catch bon scott live wit AC/DC,go see aerosmith in all its drugged out glory and see steve and joe fight too, lol.

Pretty much what you said but also go and see Zepp and Rainbow -with Dio ....heaven...and then go to a Mac concert and Heart and watch Van Halen blow all the bands they supported out the water..............

If it was a year we've been alive, I'd go back to 1988 and start all freakin' over.

If it's for any year, I'd go back to anywhere from 1976 to 1981 and stay my age. Those years sound like they were an excellent time to be hitting ones prime..

Tom Morello is a guitarist... and a GREAT one at that. He can play anything from metal riffs to acoustic, to alternative-style playing and melodic leads. He's most lauded for his ability to make electronica/hip hop influenced rhythms and beats while he plays.

He's played in Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave, and has a solo folk project, The Nightwatchman.

Rage, while having some overt political lyrics and a ton of rap flavor, have alot of great music that would likely appeal to many people here on this board. The best Rage album is their self-titled debut, with key cuts being "Killing In The Name Of," "Take The Power Back," "Wake Up," and "Know Your Enemy."'

Audioslave is a less vengeful venture.. it's Rage's instrumentalists backing Soundgarden's Chris Cornell. It's more of a post-grunge flavored outfit, but still good music. Cornell obviously brings more of a melodic flair and Morello is "roped in" a little more than he was in Rage, yet he still manages to bring alot of interesting figures to the music at hand. Very dynamic player... all three Audioslave albums are good, in my opinion.

Be sure to check out his Nightwatchman project too! He plays primarily acoustic guitar but sprinkles in some drumming and electric playing here and there too. He also sings, for the first time in his career, singing songs of revolution, freedom, rebellion, and reflection. Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and John Fogerty are major influences here, and it shows.

Go forth and scour YouTube, my faithful friends, and tell me what you think of the Mighty Morello!
