Journey To The Cure 7/19/08 REPORT

Just wanted to start a thread for the reports from those attending. Here is my brief contribution so far... I had the pleasure of getting to assist with setup today, and was there about 9:45am to help with the gear load-out. There were a few of us that had assembled to help, and it was a great pleasure meeting and working with these guys. Real professionals that were just relaxed and easy-going on every aspect. First was the sound, then the lighting equipment, and the band equipment arrived a few hours later. To pass the time in-between, I enjoyed staying busy with everything from helping dress the tables to arrange a little lunch for the crew. I was actually a little worried that my constant motion would get on someone's nerves, but I just didn't feel like sitting still. Everyone involved in this event, and all those I've met have been the nicest and best people you can imagine, and it's obvious to all that something really special is going to happen tonight -- practically magical. And there are some killer items to be offered at the silent auction!

I'm waiting until the last minute to get dressed, which looks to be about now -- we should be leaving in about 15 minutes. More to come later.

You know I thought long and hard about going to this event, but I am not sure I could face Steve Augeri.

I was one of his biggest backers, but after I heard everything and realized tape was being used I was pretty harsh.

I don't know if I could look him in the eye.

i've thought about this some. we've looked neal, jon, ross and deen in the eyes..... they were just as involved with tapegate as steve. an ugly mark on the history of our favorite band.

i never said a bad word about steve augeri. it killed me that all of that happened. he continues to be a kind man that was betrayed by his "brothers." hindsight really is 20 20 :?

Tape-gate and he betrayed you/fans. He wasn't the only one involved in it, the rest are too greedy to care. He did go along with it, so he is part of the betrayal. I feel bad for SA, it was his head that the other 2 asses put on the platter to serve. As they say, what goes around comes around and I see a rocky road coming.

Just look around RVR, there are already excuses for things going on now.

He sounded amazing!! Apparently his "incurrable throat virus" has been cured!! Maybe that is the majic that Rip was speaking about!! :lol:

He did an accoustic set.......a set with the band and also sang with Kevin Chalfant. No problem hitting any hight notes!!!
