I can still hear too much accent (for my taste), and although his stage presence is improved, he still looks like he's trying too hard at times. Overall, I'm impressed (just not enough to take in a show).

Dan, I'm glad you had a great time at the show. I'd love to see Heart.

Ann Wilson was clearly the best singer Friday night. No doubt about it. Being 5 feet away from Nancy Wilson was cooler than shit. She's still hot. During the course of the night I had Robin Zander, Nancy Wilson, Friga, Arnel and Neal play or sing no more than 5 feet from me. Being the kind soul that I am I gave Gayle my front row center seat and was off to the side a bit. 8)

Many thanx for this. Good God....that was sublime.I had a feeling they were using the European Tour as a warm up for better things, you lucky fellows!!!

Incidently, much is made (quite rightly too) of the demands the Journey catalogue places upon any voice, however Robin Zander's pipes are amazing for a man of his years...some of the key changes in those Cheap Trick tunes are far from straightforward.

The Wilson lass is one of the finest voices the Good Lord put on this earth. Do yourselves a faour and listen to one of the numerous Led Zep tributes they do..or indeed any of the acoustic shows.

Mein Gott.

Methinks Arnel Pineda took his Rock Vitamins that day.

Performances like this are why, when 'Revelation' was released, I opined that Arnel had the ability to meet or even exceed performances by Steve Perry (*gasp* ..... yes, true).

Oddly enough, I didn't like the re-record of "Separate Ways" on 'Revelation'. I thought it was among the weakest three re-records (the others being "Faithfully" and "Faith in the Heartland"). (The reasons were as much for the guitar and synthesizer as they were for the vocals though.) However, I thought the DVD version of "Separate Ways" was among the very best versions of that song that I've heard.

Fantastic .... kudos and applause to Mr. Pineda for exceeding all expectations ....

Separate Ways was probably only his 4th or 5th best song that night. There were others that were just fucking incredible.

Wow .... amazing. What were the other 3 or 4 better songs, SJ?

And why do you hate Southwest Airlines?!?

I'll be the first to admit that SW on the DVD wasn't anything special. I only wish that the DVD could be recorded NOW. He's much better than he was in March. But I understand that they wanted to get new music out to the fans and showcase their new singer.

And I love you dearly for that, Dan!!! You did, however, get the best view of Friga's dancing from your vantage point!!!

It must have been much better from the front row than it was a few rows back because by the time Journey took the stage I was bored out of my FREAKIN MIND!!!!! Cheap Trick and Heart both SUCKED in my opinion.

Journey I thought was OK but nothing any better or any worse than I've seen before.

You're fucking deaf then. I didn't even like Cheap Trick (I do now, though!) and they were fucking great. Zander can really bring it still. And Heart was just incredible. Ann Wilson has a voice in a million. She's like a female Steve Perry. Most of the 12,000 people, many of whom were still singing and applauding in the concourse, would probably disagree with you. That concert was awesome.

I don't think I was drunk enough to enjoy it as much as most people did then. They sucked!

Judging by the applause it received they'd be nuts not to keep it in the set.
