Fuck what VH1 or MTv would play, this is the YouTube age.
Check out how many fucking hits are gotten by vids of Journey (2008 vintage).
Just put it out, and it will get hits.

They should really lighten up to concept videos. Just because they had a bad director in 1984...

It would at least get on VH1Classic, probably.

Hi, that's John Mayer. He's boning Jennifer Aniston. Not bad for a Pedro look-alike, eh? :P :)

Jennifer Aniston is one step up the fugly totum pole from Sarah Jessica Parker.

Agreed. A really sophisticated video for AATY could get a lot of airplay. It's time to open the pocketbook, boys and hire a contemporary video consultant. I think Monty Python directed their videos in the 80's.

Eagles also were on Wal-mart with their last album, but they still made two videos: How Long and Busy Being Fabulous...

Nobody is expecting Journey to made videos for almost every song on album (like very popular artist Rihanna), but at least After All These Years deserves to be on music channels... What a heck, if it's too expensive for their pockets, they can always licence a video one fan made and put on youtube

Yeah I was gonna reference the Eagles. Not sure where the difference is, except that I've never heard anyone in the band say good things about making a video.

The Eagles are getting ariplay on country video shows. The Eagles have a much wider fan-base. Journey is a one tick pony with no place to go video wise. Besides that, YouTube is free and there are a crap load of live shows on there.

Click on J...scroll down to Journey...select either Chain Reaction or Separate Ways from the list...that's ALL you need to know! LOL

I think it has to do with the cost of shooting the video and getting it edited and put together...

Dude, it's 80's AOR, not Metallica!!! And I do like to see the actual members in the videos and not the lead singer's head on a fly or a bunch of zombies running around with a fruitcake leading them!!! Those dumbass videos always win the awards.

If Perry was on the video it would be a completely different financial draw.

Let me preface my comments by saying that Journey's music is more personal to me than The Eagles music. That said, the bands should NEVER be mentioned in the same breath. Aside from their Wal-Mart deals, they have NOTHING in common. The Eagles are an all-time legendary band (whether you like them or not). Journey (in spite of what all of us think of them) are just another has-been, 80's band, playing the nostalgia circuit!

The one lesson I wish Journey would have learned (and I include Schon, Perry, and Friga) from the Eagles is putting their egos aside, and making it about the music. It is VERY well known in the industry that Don Henley and Glenn Frey are not, and never have been the best of friends. Their interview on 60 Minutes earlier this year was almost uncomfortable to watch. They made it very clear during that interview that they owed it to their fans to co-exist, in the interest of their fanbase, and I applaud them for that!
