This years's Classic Rock Roll Of Honour Award nominations were announced today on the UK based magazine's web site, and there are a slew of artists up for awards this year. Legendary Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne is to be granted official Living Legend status at the 2008 event, at which the other winners will be announced at a gala ceremony on Monday, November 3 at London's Park Lane Hotel.

Def Leppard and Whitesnake are both nominated for Album Of The Year, Band Of The Year and jointly Event Of The Year for their recent double-header tour. Other nominees for Album Of The Year include Alice Cooper, hard rockin' blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa, The Black Crowes, Uriah Heep, Opeth and Journey.

Led Zeppelin are also up for three gongs, for Band Of The Year, DVD Of The Year and Event Of The Year, having played a comeback show at London's 02 Arena last December.

Only JB and the Snake have records that could compete with Revelation - I have the Crowes, Cooper @ Uriah records, and they're not even close.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

My vote would go to Whitesnake first, Def Leppard second. I really dig Lep's new CD.

You know, how can you name nominees for "Album of the Year" when there's still an AC/DC album, a Metallica Album, an Extreme Album, and (reportedly) a Sammy Hagar album to come out this year yet...

A little premature to me...

Agreed.

I think there's a new Marillion album out soon too.

Agree, the Metallica album could be very good. I hadn't heard about Sammy, when is this coming out?

I know Rick Springfield might not fit into this catagory.... :)

but after listening to his album over and over online. I have to say his album beats the rest on that list and I think the Whitesnake couldnt be beat. also the new Journey.

but this new Rick Springfield album ROCKS!!!!!!
