I usually hate threads like these - so if you have already moved on, I understand.
One of my colleagues at work, a VERY nice lady, has a young son who has been fighting a rare form of leukemia for several years now. Bobby has spent almost all of the past 3 years in and out of hospitals - chemo - radiation - bone marrow transplant. Bobby has a website for news here http://www.caringbridge.org/. That is the main site and there you enter the website name that you are looking for. - Bobby Avalos
It is a place for patients and their families to keep friends and family informed.
A few months ago, he had a downward turn and it was recommended that they try MD Anderson Hospital, in Houston, Texas - it has had a lot of success with new procedures.
They have been in Houston about a month now. Mary's (Bobby's mother) last entry is just devastating.
Over the past year Bobby has had a problem with fungal infections in his blood - and white blood cells are the only thing to fight it with.
Now the infection has spead to his lungs and may go onto his brain. He needs white cells now!!!
Anyone in the Houston area who could possibly help please pm me and I will get you intouch with the family.
These are dire times.
(this was posted at WTF also)
Thanks for your time.
