I was in Best Buy buying the new Sprinfield cd and saw they had the "Up In Smoke" DVD on sale for $4.99. I should have bought it. My wife's never seen it.

Oh yeah, my friends and I used to listen to these guys back in the late 70's, a friend of ours had the LP's. And then in 91' when I had returned from living in Japan, I got a Japanese roommate who had just came to the U.S. a week before and we moved into a three bedroom apartment together and I got "Up in Smoke" and played it on the first evening in the place. That movie tripped out my roommate big time. He liked the movie alot, but I had the difficult task in translating much of it so he'd understand. Good thing I knew Japanese slang well so I could explain it to him in his language so he'd understand. The Japanese didn't know what pot was or anything like that, I had to explain it all.
I've never eaten a piece of sushi I didn't thoroughly enjoy.

Iconic comedy duo Cheech & Chong held a press conference Wednesday (July 30th) in West Hollywood to officially announce that they will hit the road on a 22-date U.S. tour, their first in more than 25 years. The pioneers of counter-culture humor will kick off the Cheech & Chong: Light Up America... tour on September 12th at the Tower Theater in Philadelphia. Cheech Marin, who is 62, and Tommy Chong, who is 70, rolled up to the historic Troubadour club -- where they started their career -- in a classic Chevy Impala convertible with custom purple paint to answer questions from the press.

The duo says that for the tour, they will do both new material and classic skits from past tours and movies, and will even be accompanied by a band for some bits. Fans will be able to buy Chong's new book, The Unofficial Autobiography Of Cheech & Chong, at the shows. In addition, the pair said another film was a possibility.

Chong's wife and comedy partner, Shelby Chong, will open all dates on the tour.
Tickets will go on sale August 8th at 4:20 p.m., a date and time that reflects the duo's stoner humor.
Neither Cheech nor Chong referred specifically to what broke them up after a string of nine successful comedy albums and several films, though they did acknowledge that they spent the last 17 years "fighting."

Chong noted that the time is right for the reunion: "This is a moment that I've been looking forward to for many, many years because, you know, we had such a legacy and such a history that we couldn't escape it, you know, even if we tried. At the end of the day we just looked at each other and said, 'We better do this now because there ain't no tomorrow.'

Upcoming dates for Cheech & Chong are as follows:
September 12 - Upper Darby, PA - Tower Theatre
September 13 - Washington, DC - Warner Theatre
September 19 - Indianapolis, IN - Murat Theatre
September 20 - Detroit, MI - The Fillmore Detroit
September 26 - Atlanta, GA - The Tabernacle

Are they selling it in the Digipack format everywhere in the US? I remember reading that in another thread but I just wanted to double check.

Remember that huge rolling paper they put inside the sleeve of The Big Bamboo album? I still have it! Those two were so funny.
