OT: Why DrFU is the luckiest woman alive...

Postby Rip Rokken » Wed Jul 30, 2008 9:11 am

... because I just learned today (and remarkably late, considering who I am), that George Lynch was set to play a song with Dokken at the Bayou show that I think she's attending! DUDE!!!! I like Dokken just fine with Levin, but woudn't mind seeing George show up as a guest! Just hope they aren't testing the waters for a full reunion... Pilson is welcome to return, but Dokken is more stable with Levin than they ever were with Lynch...

I hope you enjoy the hell out of that show, FU, and wish I could be there to rock with ya!

I heard about this! I think it might be cool, but I really think Levin is the best possible fit for the band. After this show, go away George! 8)

I actually learned about it today from the Dokken board that I've been neglecting while I tended to Journey matters, and saw your post there -- actually, I thought you launched the thread at first. :)

Is George still 'roiding, or is he back to being normal-sized?
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

Judging by the size of that picture above, who knows? It looked a lot smaller before I hot linked to it, and then it was MASSIVE (just like George)!

That's what I'm sayin'! I've been a Dokken fan from way back and I've always been really "appreciative" (shall we say) of George.

I met George, Robert Mason, and Anthony Esposito (from Lynch Mob) back when they played the Limelight in NYC (miss that place). I was absolutely stunned when I met George because he is just so hot (imagine long hair, tight leather pants, fan placed at his feet so that his hair would fly about as he played, which he did quite amazingly) and has the softest hands I had ever felt (shook hands with him and didn't want to let go) -- who would have imagined that from a guitar player. Aren't they supposed to be riddled with callouses? The show was fantastic and simply packed to the walls (and the catwalks!).

Here's what they sounded/looked like back then:

Damn, Linda! That lineup was basically what my life was about in the late 80s-early 90s! Are you going for all 4 days?

We don't get anything like this in the NY/NJ area anymore!

Enjoy... And report back! 8)

I pretty much missed the middle and late 80s having and raising babies; I think I'm going to get all caught up in one festival! My sis and I plan to do all 4 days; we've got a hotel nearby and VIP seats that allow you to hang out in an airconditioned tent between acts. Still...Houston at the end of August on the old Astroworld grounds...don't know if we'll make it or not.

EXACT SAME experience here! Met him on the Shadowlife tour, and when he shook my hand, I was surprised it was a very light, soft grip. Not only unexpected from a guitar player, but a serious bodybuilder! The dude was PUMPED! I figured he'd about break my hand when he grabbed it... LOL!

I don't know if Mick is done with the Nugent Tour yet. He did say he would be back after that commitment.

There was a post from the drummer and even HE didn't know why he was let go...
