OK, I stand corrected. But 24,000 per game for a championship team is pretty sad - what is that, 50% of capacity?
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

okay here is my theory... and it goes back to when you are six years old throwing a fit because you are not the center of attention... I liken this attitude about Brett for his summer of discontent... think about... sure he wants to play?? Or does he.... he says he signed letter...but doesnt send it.. He says he is going to training camp...doesnt. Brett has been center of attention since he was probably 9 years old... could do NO WRONG. NOW this summer since MAR 18... no attention period. then we get closer to training camp and BAM he wants the attention again... Think about this almost 30 years of NON-STOP ATTENTION and PRAISES... notice no one pats you on the butt for nice retirement--their are no crowds in retirement land... no announcers kissing your ass... and most important no $$$$ coming in.. (its not right or wrong but just human nature...) He cant let go... I bet the loser in all this is his wife Deanna.
anyway just my rant. I hope the Packers keep him until the first week of the season and then trade him. Iam on the PACKERS SIDE in this. if i were the other teams, BE CAREFULL WHAT YOU WISH FOR.

2004 they were below .500. They didn't start drawing until midseason for 2005. Capacity is 38,000+, so it's just less than 2/3.

I don't know. The Red Sox have been sold out for each and every game since 2002, and Chicago has three times the population of Boston.

Though the Packers seem hell-bent on preventing quarterback Brett Favre from playing for the Minnesota Vikings, we can’t help but think that Favre’s defection to purple is, to a certain extent, inevitable.

Unless the Packers can persuade Favre to take a trade to some other team or decide to welcome Favre back at a time when it’s clear they don’t want him, Favre eventually will be released — and presumably will promptly sign with the Vikings.

To the extent that the Vikings are on the fence about whether they’d prefer Favre to current starter Tarvaris Jackson, Jackson’s performance on Tuesday could help nudge the powers-that-be toward embracing the 38-year-old veteran.

Jackson was intercepted twice on Tuesday. During seven-on-seven drills.

The field is tilted heavily toward the offense in seven-on-sevens, with the quarterback able to find the open receiver without worrying about having his head removed from his body. And, still, Jackson threw two picks.

Despite all of the offseason talk about Jackson’s motivation and development and all that crap, the fact remains that Jackson was unable to take advantage last year of defenses that were obsessed with blanketing tailback Adrian Peterson. Given that the team is in good-to-great shape at every position but quarterback, it’s easy to see why they’d be interested in an upgrade, even if he comes from the unlikeliest of places.

In fairness to Jackson, he completed three of four passes in a third-and-long drill, connecting for a 25-yarder with Sidney Rice and a 25-yarder with Bernard Berrian.

Still, two picks in seven-on-sevens isn’t good.

Also interesting:

New Packers president Mark Murphy, who might want to renegotiate his compensation package given the events of the past few weeks, is putting in some overtime in the Brett Favre fiasco.

Specifically, Murphy is flying to Mississippi in a last-ditch attempt to persuade Favre not to report to Packers training camp, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

Murphy will meet with Favre and agent Bus Cook on Wednesday morning.

“They’re asking him not to come up there,” a source tells the Press-Gazette. “They don’t want him up there.”

But what can they offer him to keep him away? Nothing, other than his unconditional release. And our guess is that Favre and Cook will push Murphy hard for an outright release — especially since Murphy’s personal visit to Mississippi is proof positive that the Packers are on the ropes on this one.

I am so tired of hearing about BF already.

year after year. who cares.

he needs to sign a long term contract and play till he is 100, cause he will never retire. I dont care that he does but enough of this back and forth. selfish guy IMO. love his play but he is a jackass.

Yeah, I agree. But it is fun to watch as it careens toward it's conclusion. I just want to know what AKay will do if Favre becomes a Viking.

AS THE PACKERS TURN is a great soap opera. I CANT understand why management DOES not want him back.. HELL AARON Rogers could injure a knee tomorrow or later this week and be done for the year...
and then what. The only WAY ALL GB management keeps their jobs in 09 is for the Packers to win at least 9 games with AARON at the helm and have Brett go 8-8 with any team he gets sent too, or better yet plays his first game with another team and gets sacked way too many times and then he quits.

I will cheer for them as a team, as I have done since I was ten years old, but I won't cheer for Favre. I will continue to give him the one finger salute and laugh my ass off when he gets sacked or passes an interception. I would rather see us go 0-16 then see that piece of shit in a purple uniform.

And Brett Favre with his springy youthful pushing 40 self could do the same thing and be done FOREVER. Durrrr...

I think I agree. For me, this is worse than putting Michael Jackson in as lead singer for Journey, well almost.

I think Favre will end up a Viking, even if it takes another month. But the Packers want to end this quickly, thing is only two other crappy teams want Favre. The funniest thing would be for them to trade Favre and then lose Rodgers for the season.

maybe they dont think he is THAT SERIOUS??? and how do you TELL A 38 year old HOF
that he has to LEARN a NEW OFFENSE. I think most of those teams have way to much to lose if they get FAVRE.

The season is only a month or so away. For Favre to come in and learn a whole new system in a month is a lot to ask. Most teams are better off with what they got.

Once Favre is reinstated, the Packers will have 24 hours to decide whether to release him or return him to their active roster.

Though it’s not known yet what happened when quarterback Brett Favre met with Packers president Mark Murphy on Wednesday, it is known that Favre was running late.

After a morning workout with the Oak Grove High School football team in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Favre said to a reporter, “I’m late for a 9 o’clock meeting and I’m not lying.”

(It’s good that Favre would point out that he wasn’t lying. Based on some of the things he has been saying lately, it’s hard to know.)

A Favre spokesperson said that the meeting between Favre, Murphy, and agent Bus Cook would last most of the day. But we’re having trouble understanding why it would take so long, especially when it will go something like this . . . .

Murphy: “Will you not come back?”

Favre: “No. Will you release me?”

Murphy: “No. Will you not come back?”

Favre: “No. Will you release me?”

Murphy: “No. Will you not come back?”

Favre: “No. Will you release me?”

Murphy: “No. Will you not come back?”

Cook: “These pretzels are making me thirsty.”

According to the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel, BF was offered $20 million dollars over 10 years to stay away.

I had read that it it against the new CBA to pay a player not to play. They must have found a way around that if he stays retired.

If he takes that deal then he is just an extortionist. His legacy will go down in flames.

I'm sick of Farve. He cried like a little girl when he retired and this is the second year in a row now. Someone buy him a green and yellow dress and a cheesehead and tell him to go away.
