Most important contributions from Croats to western civilization:
- the greatest influence on modern civilization made Croatian born Serb Nikola Tesla with his many inventions who are directly responsible for stellar development of technology in 20th century... you won't have a computer or internet now without his inventions...
- neckties (first came from Croatian mercenaries in service of french king Louis XIII)
- parachutes (inventor Faust Vrancic made a sketch of first parachute in 1595 and first known test of parachute in 1617)
- speedometer (inventor Josip Belusic invented it in 1888) - important part of cars...
- pencils (Croatian resident Slavoljub Eduard Penkala in 1906 and 1907)

With the exception of Mili Matijevic from Steelheart, I am COMPLETELY unimpressed. The pencil? Big fuckin' deal. The parachute? Whoa, can't live without that. You should stand on a chair, wrap a necktie firmly around your neck, jam a pencil through your left eye, step off the chair, pull open your parachute, and use a speedometer to gauge your speed. Tell us how that works out for you.

I remember that one!!! Thats one of the funniest things ,not only on MR, but anywhere online,,,, :)

I will never forget that post. Amazing.

St Joan, that quote of yours above is a trademark of yours dude, straight off the cuff and funny as fuck 8)

Are you saying this because you are upset with me???
I didn't think it was funny at all~it was actually kinda mean!!! 8)

No need. Blueskies would win that going away.

I said "funniest". Not " " .
Yeah....I have joked around a lot on this board in the past...but excuse me if I don't think it's all that funny to be played....sorry but everything I said was factual. Oh...and if no one believes that good ol' Rockin' Deano didn't hit me up for money......well...I have the Western Union receipt to prove it.

See? now THAT was funny :)
your a complete dumbass ....where is Deano? I don't see him posting on "his" board. He ran before when he was on this board because he thought I was gonna tell. I think SJ will remember that because he couldn't figure out why Dean wasn't laying into me when I got on to him....then he started deleting all his posts and disappeared for awhile....he only came back when he thought I wasn't going to say anything afterall.

Whether you lent Dean money or not, that's between the 2 of you, but do you really think that is something that should be discussed on a open public forum?
I am far from being the only one he has taken....so yes...it's been going on for too long and he shouldn't get away with conning anyone else...he's long past due to be exposed for being the con man that he is. You know as well as I do that others have tried to tell the truth about him on here as well. I don't care how much I'm attacked for telling the truth...it's not going to stop me from doing so.

Everyone on the list is funny, and many also left off.

I only discovered messageboards about 3 years ago and only visited 1 or 2 at a time. This is the 1 I have stucked with exclusively for the past year. When you have read people's posts for so long, you get the feeling you "know" the person.
And this board is full of unique characters ... and some mighty witty ones, at that.

My vote goes to Larryfromnextdoor. I don't think the newbies "know" Larry that much because he seemed to have cut down his posting as of the last few months. But Larry is just so witty and funny ... without being crude or mean-spirited ... that he's just got to be the most popular poster on this board.

As long as he doesn't try to spell and punctuate correctly. I remember when I needed a damn enigma machine to read his posts. That was half the fun!
