Um, since I'm saving up the remainder of my time off for the Holidays, we'll probably leave Friday after work... maybe I'll swing leaving at 4... but yeah.
As for hotels, I want to be near everyone else, b/c chances are I'm going to have a beverage and want to be in close proximity to a bed. 8)

It won't be like Vegas though  No hotels with late bars or anything. We will be in sleepy cow town down there since it's not IN Cleveland.

That's why I looked at downtown. 4 star (with a nice bar I don't doubt) at $80/night... can't beat it.

Uhh...it's not a sleepy cow town...you are 5 miles from Akron...and rather bustling city...where the hell do you people get information things! LOL

Look...the Holiday Inn right on Rt. 8 at the Turnpike exit has a nice bar, cheap rooms and it rocks on Saturday nights...nuff said!

That is where everyone needs to be...pre and post show that is...

Yeah I know. That's the downside, of course. But no one answered when I asked, so I was left to my own devices... maybe they'll pay attention Rhi. ^^

Unless your car has a shower, I veto this plan. But you can go right ahead and sleep in the car. I'll bring some Charmin Wipes so you can at least take a "whore bath".

That reminds me of Queensryche...Suite Sister Mary..."25 bucks a fuck and John's a happy man...she wipes the filth away and is back on streets again..."

No way reflecting on Rhi here...just the whores bath comment brought that lyric to mind...

Now I KNOW we will get along famously, but that's actually from "Spreading The Disease" -- my favorite song on that album!

Unfortunately I'll probably be hitting the lawn, unless there are still cheap-ish pavilion seats available?

I don't think I'll be able to get any buddies to come with me either, so I'll be coming up alone.

What time will Saturday festivities get underway? I'm too poor right now to be booking hotel rooms so I'll drive up on Saturday morning, stick around for a little bit of after-show festivities, and then head home late that night. Going to the Cincy show that Sunday too. If I wasn't I'd party all night with ya'll.

Even though technically I'll be driving about 800 miles back from NC/VA next weekend, it doesn't count. The closer we get to fall, the less and less I'm able to sit still. Serious. It's kinda bad. Back when I didn't live in the glass box of restraint that is Cook County, IL it wasn't too out of the ordinary for me to rack up 15,000 miles between August and New Year's.

Ouch! No wonder you went for the new car with LOW miles. Looking forward to seeing you all in Cleveland. Too bad I wasnt "allowed" to go to the get together after the Vegas show in March. I'm still sad about that :( .

I cant remember who suggested it, but I can vouch for the Holiday INN on Rt 8. Used to have meetings there when I first started at my last job and we'd go to the bar after. Its pretty close to Blossom. Also, depending on where anyone is heading there are plenty of hotels in Independence, which is centrally located near 77, 480, 71, and 90. A few local bars as well(Winking Lizard, etc.).

St. John, let me know if you end up doing the 5 Star. I had the same thought and got mine last month. I'm working on getting something pretty cool to have them autograph, but so far its not going too well.

You're going to be awfully far from Blossom in downtown, so you'll have to leave yourself time to get to the show before.

Also, for first-time Blossom goers, for the love of god do not wait until the encore is over. You will be stuck in reverse in the same spot for at least an hour, probably longer. All will to party after-show will be gone by the time you get out. If you leave while encore is starting, you can still hear on your way out and get out quick.

That's how it was in Buffalo when we went last year. There was only one country road in and out and it was bumper to bumper for a couple of hours to the interstate. I expect this may be like that looking at maps. We are not in the big city there, I can tell  I think being in downtown Cleveland that day is a bad idea. I think that Friday is better for that.

On my way to South Bend, I got caught in the morning rush north of Akron/Canton on Rt. 8 going from 77 to the Turnpike... that was sheer hell. Retarded-ass roads. I thought I was on an interstate spur... but there was a stoplight, so I'm like wth? Anyhow... long story short... Ohio is weird.

Shitty-ass Cincinnati roads and drivers screwed me out of seeing half of Journey's set two years ago.

At least I know where I'm going now. ugh.
