Anyone seen this HBO documentary, "Hard Times at Douglass High: A No Child Left Behind Report Card"??? As a school person I'm appalled. As a citizen, FRIGHTENED!!!!!!!! We are in serious trouble if we're "producing" this caliber of graduates, though most of them don't even graduate......................

Hundreds of kids roaming the hall, NEVER going to class. In some cases, kids have roamed the halls causing trouble the entire year without setting foot in a classroom. Two thirds of the school's teachers are substitutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The place is UTTER chaos!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll have to ASSume that they have part time parents as well??? I know this sort
of thing goes on everywhere...but where is Douglass High?

Every single teacher I know - and I personally know dozens between the ages of 25 and 65 - believes the Every Child Left Behind Act is a complete and utter failure. This will rank as one of Bush's worst policies, ranking only behind his decision to invade Iraq.
