Told him you were the first person to post YouTube vids of him here on MR which is how we discovered him, and he said:

Hello TRAGchick... Thank you, TRAGchick!

Nice. Still think there should be some sort of commission in this for Nora and or Melodicrock.com

This is bizarre, to say the least....

Yes, I know that Steve P. wants NOTHING to do with Journey anymore....

 but, Steve is the one and ONLY reason why I'm a Pro Singer...

....and to think that I am the one that found his replacement is just.....I dunno.... :?

It's not like Arnel cut in front of Perry in the Employment line. According to all reports, Steve is more than happy punching kittens so there is nothing for you to feel bad about.

Maybe you know this but somehow i get the feeling you missed it. about 6 weeks ago there was a thread about who really discovered Arnel. popular opinion was that it was you.

If it's any peace of mind, you didn't find Perry's replacement... there have been a few others since him! :) So embrace your destiny as a heroine to an entire country! We need to get you over on the Arnel board -- you'll be treated like royalty!

Well, evidently you thought his vocals were inspiring enough to post the Youtube on here, so yeah, it's you kiddo. So, thanks. He's fantastic with Journey.

Besides DSB, didn't he step in and become an advisor on the Monster soundtrack? I think that soundtrack is one of the best compilations ever done for a film.

I think that's true. I read today that he was a producer on movies like Under Seige 2, Speed 2, and a few others. I think Under Seige 2 is in production now or something...

Steve Perry the movie producer is NOT the former lead singer of Journey. It's a different man.

He did however consult on Monster.

Y'know, I read this about 2 hours ago....

And, thank you for the invite....but I will decline.

Why? I'll tell you:

If Journey moved ahead with Arnel, recorded ONLY NEW music, and got their name/chart status/concert attendance back, well I'd be the first to say "Bravo!"

HOWEVER - NO, I canNOT say that, because they re-recorded music originally made (in)famous and FREAKING ICONIC by Steve Perry.

To me, it's like going into the Sistine Chapel, getting a ladder / scaffolding, going up to the ceiling, and SPRAY-PAINTING over the whole thing...
Then covering it up with SPACKLE, and claiming "Michelangelo WHO???!! HELL, I COULD DO BETTER!!"

Agree / disagree; that's your choice....sorry; I'm not going to be "responsible" for the re-recordings.

This is categorically false. That music was "originally made famous" by [b]Journey. And it was re-recorded by Journey. The fact that you won't go say hi to some people that wanna talk to you, while your choice, has dog shit logic behind it. "No thanks" would have made you seem much more sane.

Not to mention (for the umpteenth time) that Walmart wanted the rerecords with 4 new songs. Journey took the high road and released a full album instead of letting Walmart cram everything onto one disc. Walmart gives artists far more then what they would get if they sign with Sony, Warner, etc. Journey made the right choice, give Walmart what they want to close the deal, but also give fans new material.
